I've heard this morning that the student from the video below is suing the UCPD, no big surprise there, and that the UCPD has hired an independent investigator to look at the case and recommend any procedural changes that he might feel are necessary. I sincerely hope that it's obvious to him that some kind of change is necessary. I'm sure we'll all be hearing a lot more about this along the way.

Procedural changes? What a joke. These guys were just plain thugs. No procedure would have prevented this. The only thing that will keep this from happening again is life sentences for the villains in uniform and a suit that bankrupts the UCPD.

I would certainly hope that "procedural changes" is police code for "everyone gets fired and never gets to carry a weapon again" but I guess you never know. I think at this early stage we're only going to hear more about this, and as we do, I expect the penalties to grow. I think they're just in CYA mode right now.
