After writing about the O'Hare UFO story the other day, somehow I just knew what the next phase of the story was going to be...There's a picture out...and it's probably a fake. Who would have ever figured that someone would take the time to fake a photograph on such a popular UFO case? Sheesh...
As for the pilot who supposedly took a photo, I sincerely hope the rumors that he's holding back while he auctions it off to the highest bidder aren't true. Just put out the picture, and let people decide for themselves whether it deserves all the attention it's gotten or not, in my opinion.

You'd think these things would be pretty straightforward. Do you have photos or not? Will a witness come forward or not? We - meaning the UFO community - always manage to make ourselves look like fools.
It's true Jane. The funny thing on this one is that even if no photos ever surface, there were plenty of witnesses to make a credible case. However, it got built up so big that nothing short of proof of a UFO is going to be acceptable to the world at this point. It's too bad, really.
Thanks for the link.
It's inevitable. Boredom seeks a resolution of some type. As people get bored waiting for a legitimate photo some will want to have a little fun, and create some of their own.
It's to be expected, but it's dishonest.
What we need to do is stay focused on the facts.
About all we know is that there is a report of a UFO sighting over O'Hare.
Let's forget about photos.
The Freedom of Information Act submission by the Chicago Tribune should net some interesting information from the Control Tower logs.
Eventually some of those too frightened over loosing their nice paying, and safe positions with United Air Lines may begin to speak.
Many pilots carry such stories to their graves. You don't want to be accused of seeing things in that profession, and so they are naturally concerned about reporting such incidents.
I see a day in the not too distant future where someone like Larry King will have six or so of those present on his show all being open, and honest to the world about what they saw.
Was it extra terrestrial?
Was it a RPV, or UPV from CIA, or NSA?
For now we just don't have enough information.
But unless we have some names of some people who were actually there, accompanying the photographs to lend authenticity to them - I'd say we need to consider most images to be suspect (highly).

Very true Eugene, and well said. Like I said above, it's great that there was such a well publicized case, but it's too bad that it got built up quite so high. It's going to be interesting to see if the pilot's pictures ever come out, and what the reaction to them is at this point.
Well we'll see if the FAA wants to risk destroying any references the control tower has in their logs to the event.
Someone is going to start talking, and when they do if it turns out the FAA actively suppressed the story it should lead to criminal prosecution.
Let's ask ourselves this question. What if a small home made built aircraft that had been slightly modified to be stealthy (and this isn't so wild of a thought - as some wooden aircraft don't reflect radar well) ... what if someone had been flying around with some high explosives, or with some bacteriological, or dirty bomb materials?
Sort of a precursor to an attack upon Chicago.
And they didn't even investigate?
United Air Lines actively tells its employees to keep quiet?
What else does United Air Lines tell its employees to keep quite on? Maintenance problems? Can we trust them ever again?
The FAA tells its employees to keep quiet?
Just what in God's name is going on here!
How in God's name can we trust our government under any conditions after 9-11 when they rounded up all the Bin Laden family in the U.S., and then ushered them out of the country before any investigation when no one else could even take an aircraft into the air at that time? How can we trust our government when they started the war in Iraq on false pretenses?
And now they lie to us, and cover up a UFO sighting by threatening, and allowing threats to be made to pilots, airline workers, and airport ground crew.
All these fake photos are a diversion.
I couldn't care less about any of them. What we need is the follow up on this story.
Anyone can submit a Freedom of Information Act request.
We need to know who saw what, and what was seen.
We also need to know who was active in keeping the truth from the American people, and we need to see if any laws have been broken in the process, and to prosecute them if possible.
It's time that people stop being made to fear talking about UFOs.

Well said Eugene. I think just about everything you said was right on. It's certainly going to be interesting to see where this one goes, with so many credible witnesses. You're right, too, the fake pictures are just trying to make everyone blow this one off as a joke, and it's working for most people. There's a lot of digging still to be done on this one, and there's still going to be a lot of info coming out as we go along.
