Spirals, Symbols and Snakes

It is seen in the sky, on the ground, hidden in language and glaring at us from the pages of our most profound books - the snake. In this Article I want to extend that now a little and for us to journey around the world of symbols. By understanding what many of these symbols mean and just how universal they are we will be guided into this lost world of our past. We will begin with a symbol of life itself from the worldâ??s greatest ancient civilisation.

Ankh
The Ankh is the Crux Ansata. A simple T-Cross, surmounted by an oval â?? called the RU, which is, simply put, the gateway to enlightenment.
This enigmatic symbol of Egypt represents â??eternal lifeâ?? and was often found in the names of Pharaohâ??s such as Tut-ankh-amun. The symbol is often depicted being held by a god to a Pharaoh, giving him life, or held by a Pharaoh to his people, giving them life â?? this basically set aside the immortals, from the mortals, for anyone wearing or carrying the Ankh had gained or hoped to gain immortality. In truth also, the pharaoh was God on earth and so he held his own symbol of the sun and the serpent to his people â?? he was the sun, giving us life, just as it does in nature.
It is the loop (the RU or gateway) of the Ankh, which is held by the immortals to the nostrils (as in the Biblical god breathing life into the nostrils of Adam.) If indeed these â??immortalsâ?? are the sun, moon and stars, then this Ru device is indeed a gateway to the stars â?? or basically a gateway to what we were believed to return or become following death. The Ankh though outlived Egyptian domination and was widely used by the Christians as their first cross, but in this symbol holds a clue to the secret of the serpent.
Thoth (see Taautus below) was said to have symbolised the four elements with a simple cross, which originated from the oldest Phoenician alphabet as the curling serpent. Indeed Philo adds that the Phoenician alphabet â??are those formed by means of serpents . . . and adored them as the supreme gods, the rulers of the universe.â?? Thus bringing to mind the god Thoth, who again is related to the worship of serpents and who created the alphabet. The â??rulers of the universeâ?? are indeed the planets and stars.
Bunsen in the 19th century thought, â??the forms and movements of serpents were employed in the invention of the oldest letters, which represent gods.â?? This symbol of the four elements was altered slightly and became the Egyptian Taut, the same as the Greek Tau, which is where we get the name Tau Cross from â?? a simple T.
The T or Tau cross has been a symbol of eternal life in many cultures and gives its name to the Bull in the Astrological sign of Taurus â?? note here the two elements of the Tau and the RU being brought together. In fact the Druids (or â??addersâ?? after the snake) venerated the tree and the snake by scrawling the Tau cross into tree bark.
In the Middle Ages the Tau cross was used in amulets to protect the wearer against disease.
Amongst the modern Freemasons the Tau has many meanings. Some say that it stands for Templus Hierosolyma or the Temple of Jerusalem, others that it signifies hidden treasure or means Clavis ad Thesaurum, â??A key to treasureâ?? or Theca ubi res pretiosa, â??A place where the precious thing is concealed.â??
It is especially important in Royal Arch Masonry where it becomes the â??Companions Jewelâ?? with a serpent as a circle above the cross bar â?? forming the Ankh with the Hebrew word for â??serpentâ?? engraved on the upright and also including the Triple Tau â?? a symbol for hidden treasure and significantly made up of 8 right angles.
It was also the symbol for St. Anthony â?? later to become the symbol for the Knights Templar of St. Anthony of Leith in Scotland. St. Anthony lived in the 4th century AD and is credited with establishing Monasticism in Egypt, and generally the story goes that he sold all his possessions after hearing from the Lord and marched off into the wilderness to become a hermit. On his travels he learned much from various sages in Egypt and grew for himself a large following. He was sorely tempted by the devil in the form of â??creeping thingsâ?? and serpents (chaos). In one episode he follows a trail of gold to a temple, which is infested with serpents and takes up residence, needing little food for sustenance other than bread and water. He is said to have lived 105 years and due to this longevity he is credited with protective powers.
The Order of the Hospitalers of St. Anthony, who would later take much of the Templar wealth, brought many of Anthonyâ??s relics to France in the 11th century, although they were said to have been secretly deposited somewhere in Egypt just after his death and then later to have found their way to Alexandria.
The Taut or Tau symbolises the creating four elements of the universe. Next the symbol of the sun / serpent was added, a simple circle or the oval RU. This loop above the T cross-created the Ankh, the symbol of eternity. The snake in a circle eating its own tale is symbolical of the sun and immortality.
The symbol of the moon was added to this, turning it into the sign for Hermes/Mercury and showing the Caduceus/Serpent origin. No wonder that this, the most perfect and simple of symbolical devices became the symbol of the early Christians; no wonder that, even though there were no cross-beam crucifixions, Christ was never the less symbolically crucified on a symbol of eternal life, a symbol of the serpent.
This symbol became the mark or sign, which would set the believer aside for saving. In Ezekiel this is the mark that god will know, the mark on the forehead. As Deane points out the Ezekiel passage (9:4) should read, â??set a Tau upon their foreheads.â?? or â??mark with the letter Tau the foreheads.â?? The early Christians baptised with the term â??crucis thaumate notare.â?? They baptised with the symbol of the sun-snake (sun-ake). And St. Paul himself in Galatians 6: 17 states â??let no-one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.â??
Is this the original mark of Cain, who we have found to be of the serpent tribe?
The idea of this sign or mark is widespread once discovered. In Job 31:35 we read in our modern Bibles â??I sign now my defence â?? let the Almighty answer meâ?? which should properly read, â??Behold, here is my Tau, let the Almighty answer me.â?? He then goes on and says â??Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.â??
This remarkable idea of wearing the Tau cross on the shoulder as a sign would later become part and parcel of the crusader Templars markings, the very same Templars who are instigated in the worship of serpents. Also the Merovingians (said by some to be descended from Jesus and a sea serpent or fish god â?? the Quinotaur or Quino-Tau-rus) were supposedly born with a red cross between their shoulder blades. The Tau cross is also strangely used by those practising sacred geometry as a â??markerâ?? for buried treasure, whether physical or spiritual.
In shape, the Ankh is very similar to the Egyptian musical instrument, which is shaped like the oval RU â?? the Sistrum.

Sistrum
An Egyptian musical instrument closely associated with female gods â?? especially Hathor the serpent/cow goddess and Isis â?? the consort of Osiris. In form, very much like the Ankh with a loop at the top â?? also representing the egg â?? and three serpents striking through the loop with small square pieces of metal, which rattle. Itâ??s possible these three serpents represent the pingala, ida and sushumna nerve channels and which are said to converge and fuse together within the centre of the brain (the thalamus) â?? which in the individual was also thought to represent the â??cosmic egg.â??
During the ascent of these serpent energies up the spine to the centre of the head, the individual while going through this supposed enlightenment process, will hear sounds similar to the sounds the Sistrum makes â?? i.e., rattle sounds like tambourine bells and sounds like a bell-tree being stroked. One will also hear sounds like a â??rattle snakeâ?? and also whistles and flute-like instruments. Underlying these sounds is a very low and strong rumbling sound which fades-in at first and gets louder and louder as the process proceeds culminating in the bright, white light explosion in the centre of the head. The Sistrum then may have been a symbol of this experience.
The Sistrum was used in pictures and carvings to show the various gods and Pharaohs subduing the power of a particular god â?? and mostly because the god holding the Sistrum had the â??powerâ?? and â??energyâ?? to do so through having had the enlightenment experience â?? also representing the externalised solar power.
Birds
The association between birds or wings and the serpent seems to go back in time many thousands of years and across the world. To quote John Bathurst Deane:
â??The hierogram of the circle, wings, and serpent, is one of the most curios emblems of Ophiolatreia, and is recognised, with some modifications, in almost every country where serpent worship prevailed . . . It may be alleged that all these cannot be resolved into the single-winged serpent once coiled. Under their present form, certainly not; but it is possible that these may be corruptionâ??s of the original emblem which was only preserved accurately in the neighbourhood of the country where the cause of serpent-worship existed; namely, in Persia, which bordered upon Babylonia and Media, the rival loci of the Garden of Eden.â??
Deane relates these many thousands of images of the â??winged serpentâ?? to the Seraphim of the Bible, the â??fieryâ?? and â??flying serpents.â??
These could also be the origins for the flying dragons and why Quetzalcoatl was the â??featheredâ?? or â??plumed serpentâ?? amongst others. The reason given by Deane for this symbolism is for proof of deity and consecration of a given Temple. If this is the case, then it was certainly believed that the ancient serpent had consecrated Temples across the world. And if the serpent was a true symbol of the sun (external) and the inner light (internal) then it was a perfect fusing of our ancestors belief in one location at one time (temple).
The real reason for the wings is that the serpent enlightenment aspect gave the adherent wings, symbolically making him/her higher in aspect and part of the â??heavenlyâ?? chorus.

Dove
The dove is an important element in symbolism and for some reason was seen in the New Testament as a symbol of the Holy Spirit or feminine aspect of God. It came down upon Jesus as he was baptised, giving him that famous â??born againâ?? element.
It descended upon the disciples. But why was the Dove chosen?
The Mesoamerican god Quetzalcoatl is the â??Feathered Serpent,â?? so are there any links between the dove as a feathered bird and the serpent?
Eurynome was probably the most important Goddess of the Pelasgian myths. These Pelasgians were a people who arrived in Greece from Palestine over 5,500 years ago, although it also became a term for â??realâ?? Greeks later on.
Eurynome was the creator, the Mother Goddess â?? the ruler of all things. She was born from chaos; she separated the water from the sky and then danced across the water in-order to create.
Whilst dancing she created wind or breath and taking hold of it between her hands she rubbed and rubbed until she had created a snake. The snake was called Ophion and he was filled with desire for the â??dancing goddess.â?? Wrapping himself around her seven times he impregnated the goddess, who had now taken the form of a Dove, and created an egg.
From the egg came forth all animals and plants and so Eurynome ascended to Mount Olympus and watched as her children developed. The snake Ophion bragged about his creation and so Eurynome kicked out his teeth, from where came all the people, including the first man Pelasgus, (like Adam) and from where the tribe derived its name. Ophion was then kicked out of heaven. The creation of the world and all that is in it was therefore again due to the snake and a goddess. But how does this goddess relate to the bird?
By the Sumerians, one of the most ancient of civilisations, she was simply known as Iahu, the â??exalted Dove.â?? This Eurynome cult had spread across the Mediterranean and became a base for many other myths and religions, including the Hebrew god Yahweh taking on elements of the name Lahu. She was an original Mother Goddess, the feminine aspect and was seen as a dove â?? and united with the serpent seed, she gave birth to creation.
The Dove of Christianity is the feminine aspect and brings new life; she was known as the breath â?? the same breath that emerges in the beginning and from the Egyptian Ankh (see Ankh) into the nostrils, bringing new life and immortality. The feminine aspect of Quetzalcoatl is the feathered bird aspect and the male-part the snake.
Celtic Knotwork and Other Symbols
Due to the prevalence of the serpent in the Celtic world and surrounding cultures, it is my understanding that Celtic Knotwork is derived from the images of the snake and the movements of the planets.
We can see influences of this in the spirals and other serpent shapes seen upon many of the worldâ??s ancient monuments. In Scandinavian literature and stone art we can also see how the serpent appears, looking remarkably like Celtic Knotwork. In Roman and Greek wall paintings there are running spirals thought to be symbolic of the protective snake.
A Neolithic vessel, now in the museum of Henan in China, shows a distinct correlation between the idea of the snake and the Knotwork. The idea of the Knotwork coming from the snake was probably discontinued due to Christian influence.
Other symbols that are related to the snake include the Ivy leaf, a symbol of Bacchus/Dionysius and a symbol of immortality. The reasoning behind this symbol is simply that the leaf is similar to the snakeâ??s head and it entwines around pillars and trees as the snake is shown to do in images across the world.
Related to this Ivy leaf image is the shape of the heart and we can see in two Japanese clay statuettes from the Jomon period that they have these snake-heart heads.
Many images of the Buddha also incorporate this Ivy/Heart shape head â?? a softening and hiding of the earlier images of Naga deities who had snakes heads. These Ivy and Heart shapes were thought to protect the person wearing them or the building adorned with them, and they are therefore no different to the concept of the protecting or guarding snake from folklore and legend. They are just basically symbolic of the original snake â?? and remaining so until Christianity demonised them. Of course the Ivy, along with that other serpentine symbol, the grapevine, are to be seen across the worldâ??s Christian buildings, as Jesus claimed that we should be grafted onto the vine. Did Jesus really mean that we should be part of the serpent cult? Part of the family, which he was himself a creation of?
Of course the fruit of the vine is wine, and if the vine is an ancient symbol of the snake, then what is the fruit of the snake? Jesus said that we were to drink the wine as a symbol of his blood and therefore it was the blood of the snake.
Drink of the fruit of the vine and you shall have eternal life, a fruit created by God for our pleasure.

Spirals and other Rock Art
Marija Gimbutas in The Goddesses and Gods of Old Europe says:
â??Compositions on the shoulders of cult vases reveal pairs of snakes with opposed heads, making the world roll with the energy of their spiralling bodies.â??
Spirals and carvings of this snake energy are seen all over the world, much like the cult of the serpent. And, it is always found to be in association with the serpent worship. According to J.C. Cooper in An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Traditional Symbols, the spiral â??typifies the androgyne and is connected with the caduceus symbolismâ?? which is of course the symbol of serpent healing. In Australia Robert Layton in Australian Rock Art: a new synthesis, (Cambridge University Press) points out the serpent origins of these images; images, which are always seen with other serpentine shapes. Figure three in Laytonâ??s book shows these images clearly as â??a snake entering a hole,â?? â??a snake leaving a hole.â?? Remembering that the Ouroborus, the circular image of the snake eating its own tail, is an image of immortality, we should also remember the antiquity of the device. Along side spirals are circles like the Ouroborus, called often cup and ring marks. There are also zigzags, thought by many to be the fiery aspect of the serpent, and waves, showing the fluidity of the serpent - something also related to the symbolism of Water. It is no surprise that such images of the snake, in all its relative forms should be seen on the most ancient of rock art. In the cup and ring marks there are many images of what appears to be a serpent entering the cup and rings. Some have put this down to a serpent entering a hole, others that it is eating an egg; nobody is sure. What it does show is a serpent head towards a cup! If, of course, the snake is also the symbol of the macro sun, then these spirals and serpentine patterns may also reveal the pathways of the sun at various times of the year and the greater years â?? such as those of the precession of the earth.
The spirals have been associated with astronomical alignments. This can especially be seen in the work of N L Thomas in Irish Symbols of 3500 BC where the spiral running right to left is seen as the winter sun; the spiral running left to right is the summer sun and the double spiral as the spring and autumn equinox. There is little doubt from the work carried out by Thomas that this is true, but the fact also remains that the ancients were using symbols of the serpent in their astronomical alignments. This is matched by the fact that the serpent was seen in the sky, in various constellations and by the serpent encompassing the heavens. The two elements cannot be split apart â?? this was a unified theory of life and it was created by, given life by and kept fertile by the snake and the sun.
In Eurasia and Japan there are definite images of snakes as spirals. In earthenware from the middle Jomon period (approx 2000 BC) of Japan these can be seen quite clearly, and are said to be there to protect the contents of the jar from harm; something important was obviously in them. Clay figures from the same period also show wound snakes on the heads. These spirals became part of family crests and transformed over time into the Yin and Yang symbol of duality so popular today. These family symbols are called Kamon and one class of them particularly is called Janome, which basically means eye of the snake. Characters for snakes in Chinese became part of the alphabet over 3000 years ago. Another interesting point about the snake in China is that the Rainbow is said to be the snake elevated into the sky much like the Australian Rainbow Serpent. Indeed, the Chinese character for Rainbow reflects this position as it has the symbol of the snake within it.
In Peru there is pottery with spirals ending in snakes heads. In Taiwan there is a sculptured door with spirals ending in snakes heads. In many Celtic stone monuments there are similar images â?? all leading to the now beautiful and ornate Celtic Knot-work

Swastika
The ancient symbol of the swastika is simply a stylised spiral as can be shown from the many depictions across the world of swastikas made up of spirals and snakes. It also shows up in the spiral fashions of the labyrinths and mazes. The word labyrinth comes directly from the ancient Minoan Snake Goddess culture of Crete, where the swastika was used as a symbol of the labyrinth and is linked etymologically with the â??double headed axeâ?? â?? the Tau Cross. Similar labyrinthine shaped swastikas have been found in the ancient city of Harappa from the 2000 BC. As the labyrinth is viewed as a womb of the Mother Goddess, and a symbol of the snake, there is little wonder that these two symbols became fused. However, labyrinths were also seen as places of ancient serpent initiation and if viewed in the same manner as Serpent Mounds then it is further evidence for their real use. (See Serpent Mounds) In ancient Egypt the labyrinth was synominous with what was called the Amenti â?? the snake like path taken by the dead to journey from death to resurrection. It was Isis, the serpent queen of heaven who was to guide the souls through the twists of the Amenti. The path towards the centre, leads towards treasure. The snake adorning Athene in ancient Greece is shown with a swastika skirt. The same is true of Astarte and Artemis. There is Samarran pottery dating from 5000-4000 BC from Mesopotamia showing a female swastika, where the hair swirls with Medusa type serpents. The swastika is also shown as two serpents crossing each other.
In Norse myth, the hammer of Thor (note that Labyrinth means double headed axe just like the Hammer of Thor!), Mjollnir, is closely connected with the swastika and is found to be a prominent motif in Scandinavian art from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age. It is found on swords and Anglo-Saxon cremation urns and on numerous Viking items. It was seen as a protector against thieves, reminiscent of the fact that serpents were known to guard treasure. As Thorâ??s hammer was also seen as a Tau cross (See Taautus) it is certainly related to the secrets of the serpent. It was used by Thor to lop off the head of the sacred ox, which he used as bait to catch the Midgard Serpent, which circled the globe in the symbol of the Ouroboros, eating its own tail. This was Thor offering a head as sacrifice to the serpent to try and gain immortality in the mead â?? the drink of the gods. Thorâ??s aim was to gain a cauldron big enough to take the mead for the immortals and he needed to prove his worth by fishing for the serpent. He had power of the serpent as the slayer, with the swastika or Tau cross. There is evidence to prove that the myths of these Scandinavians and the Hindus are related, as the story of Thor and the Midgard Serpent closely resemble the battle between Indra and Vritra, showing a common origin. Vritra is the great serpent, which lies at the source of two rivers (the positive and negative or male and female), as the Midgard Serpent lies beneath the sea (of the mind and the other side of the planet where the sun goes each night). Indra slits open the belly of the serpent to release the waters and therefore fertility back to the land. Both gods, Indra and Thor, are related to the weather, both are warrior gods with a thunderbolt as a weapon and both slay the dragon. The swastika of the serpent is a common motif in both cultures. Eventually the Christians steal both pagan myths and place St. Michael and St. George in their place â?? both having the red serpent cross to replace the swastika.
The swastika is also the symbol of the movement of the earth fixed on one spot.

Taautus (Taut)
Said by Eusebius to be the originator of serpent worship in Phoenicia. Sanchoniathon called him a god and says that he made the first image of Coelus and invented hieroglyphs. This links him with Hermes Trismegistus, also known as Thoth in Egypt. Taautus consecrated the species of dragons and serpents; and the Phoenicians and Egyptians followed him in this superstition.
This Taautus could very well be a memory of the first group who originated the worship of the serpent after the flood or end of last ice age 12000 years ago. The idea of Taautus links precisely with the stories of Thoth, who later became a great sage of Gnostic and Alchemical beliefs. Thoth was deified after his death (a time that nobody knows) and given the title â??the god of healthâ?? or â??healingâ??. He was the proto-type for Aesculapius and identified with Hermes and Mercury. All healers, all wise, all teachers, all saviours and all associated with the serpent for their powers and all individuals who could map the stars and movements of time. However, it was as the healing god that Thoth was symbolised as the serpent - whereas he is normally represented with the head of an Ibis and Baboon.
The Letter or Symbol â??Tauâ?? is the first letter of Taautus, Tammuz and Thoth and is thought to be the â??Mark of Cainâ??.

So there we have many symbols and many references to the sun and the snake. There are often confusing elements at play here, which often seem to mislead us and appear â??hiddenâ?? because we have simply forgotten the real truth. In essence we can reduce all of this down into three simple and distinct parts to help us on our journey.

We must remember before we do so that the very word, snake, is derived from both the animal and the sun â?? sun-ake. Now we can see clearly that the serpent was often but not solely used as a symbol of the movements of the great god in the sky â?? the sun. Secondly the snake was a symbol of the internal â??sunâ?? â?? what people know of today as enlightenment within and thirdly the real and literal snake did indeed offer up its body for our use. We created an Elixir of Life from its venom and blood, healed our skin with its skin and brewed wonderful concoctions from other parts.

All in all, the serpent or snake has been a very powerful literal and physical element, let alone a useful symbolic part of our history.

The One

The Secret and Ancient Tale of Self Empowerment

There is a lot of talk about the One in New Age and alternative circles. The amazing success of the film What the Bleep!?, brought home to many the reality of the quantum world and the unusual state of perception that we exist in. But during the whole film there was no mention of our past. There was no indication whether ancient man had ever understood such so-called realities before the 20th and 21st centuries. Is this arrogance? That only we in the modern age can understand such concepts? Or is it a lack of understanding and knowledge of the mind of our ancestors? I decided it was time to discover whether ancient man could have possibly known about the quantum realm of Oneness. But first we have to understand it ourselves before we can see the clues our ancestors left behind.

To our modern eyes the concept of the One or Oneness is mystical and Eastern in origin and there will be found truth in this. But we can perceive this reality with our Western eyes. Try to imagine yourself as a grain of sand. You are nestled upon the beach, one of trillions and trillions of grains of sand. You are quite separate and yet also part of and similar to the whole. All you see around you are other grains of sand. But whilst you concentrate on those, you neglect to see the sky from which falls the rays of the sun that contain life and the drops of rain that feed the ocean that formed you. You do not see that those other grains of sand were formed in the same way as you and that they too come from the same rocks; you are all the same. And one day, in millions of years you will form as ancient sedimentary rock one again.

In this way, we are all formed by the same methods, with the same energy. We all eat the same produce of the earth and drink the same water. We shall all return to this same earth from where we came and the earth shall one day return to the universe from whence it came. Ultimately it shall all â??roll-upâ?? in the Big Crash and all be one again. In truth, it is all one anyway. It is all interconnected and via quantum entanglement every piece of information is everywhere from all time in one place and in every particle. Imagine that! Itâ??s like a hologram plate. When we look at it the picture placed there by light energy is three dimensional. When we smash the picture into a thousand pieces, every piece has the picture of the whole! This is what the holographic universe is like, but this time we have more dimensions such as time itself. So imagine, you as an individual are really part of a multi-dimensional holographic universe where you are everywhere in all-time!

Well, thatâ??s kind of what the One concept is about in a really simple way. So did ancient man understand this principle and what lessons for us can we draw? For an answer to this I just knew from my own research that I should turn to my Sufi friends and their ancient wisdom.

There is a tale told by the 19th century Sufi master Ghuath Ali Shah and today re-told by Sufi masters across the world. To many the teachings mean nothing. They are just nice stories re-told again and again and have in the re-telling lost their value. But this is not true. Those with the eyes to see can understand the many meanings behind the tales and in this respect my years listening to and learning from various â??teachersâ?? of the Gnostic loop, including Sufiâ??s, has seen me in good stead. The tale I speak of is known as The Four Travellers and I will now myself in all humility to the ancient masters, re-tell the tale and offer some explanation for our modern eyes. Understand of course, that in each tale, there are many levels of understanding and so you can find truths within for yourself.

There was a forest, black as midnight and thicker than thieves. It was a favourite route for many, but suffered from highwaymen and robbers and so it was that four travellers found themselves needing to rest for the night, but fearful for their lives and possessions. They were good friends and had three of them had been so for many years and so after discussion they decided to take turns to watch around the campfire. They settled down and the first watch went to a carpenter and wood sculptor. He sat for a while and then noticed a small length of wood and so decided to pass the time carving a beautiful image of a woman. By the time he had finished it was time for the next watch and so he placed the wooden lady down and woke his friend.

His friend was a tailor and after a while he too noticed the piece of wood and decided to make some clothes for the image of the woman. He produced a dress of silk and finished off with small leather sandals. Now it was time for him to sleep and he woke the next man who was a jeweller. Again to pass the time the jeweller decided to adorn the little figure with beautiful jewels. The final watch was summoned, but this time the man, a new friend the others had met on the journey, had no skills at all and so felt very ashamed of himself. He saw the wooden lady and admired the art and craft of his new friends. He wanted to show that he too was capable of improving upon the wood. He decided the only thing he could do was to seek the help of God and so he prayed:

â??Oh, Almighty and Merciful Lord, give us some portion of your glory and as the Giver of Life bestow upon this humble figure the gift of life.â??

The fire finally went out and all was dark, all was one black place. Then the sun rose and crept across the landscape, revealing the countless forms that had been part of the darkness. One of these forms was now new to human life â?? the wooden woman was a living, breathing creature. The four men now awake were aghast and in awe at their creation. The wood carver admired the contours; the tailor was gushing with pride at the serene silken dress and the jeweller thought the fine gems were full of inspiration. And yet the fourth man claimed the upper hand for himself, because it was he who had asked God to provide the life force. In truth, the four men, who just the night before had been friends, were now sworn enemies, each one claiming ownership of this thing of beauty.

And so, because they could not decide who owned the stunningly mute female they made for the nearest town where they sought out the judge. Unfortunately the judge and the towns people simply thought they were fools and so sent then to see the king. Again, the king, thinking them to be fools sent them to the Sufi master who this time took all five out to see the Tree of Knowledge and with an assembled audience began to ask the tree for its wisdom. No sooner had the Sufi begun to speak than the tree opened up before them and as if by magic the young lady walked towards it and was swallowed whole. They never saw her again.

This marvellous tale reveals many â??truthsâ??, but I wish to concentrate on just two of them here. The fact is that the woman had come from wood and would therefore go back to wood. She returned to the place from whence she came, just as we all shall. This is the concept of the One. It is the unity of the cycle itself. Not only are we part of the whole whilst in this part of the cycle or that part of the cycle; we are the One before and after and always shall be. As cosmic dust, solar rays and universal energy feed our planet and us, so too shall we ourselves return to cosmic dust, solar rays and universal energy one day. We shall return to the place from whence we came, we are part of a great unified universe. There is no tomorrow, no yesterday, neither exist. The only place in time and space that exists is now and that is a slice through the whole.

But there is much more to this tale and for me there is a strong personal lesson for each and every one of us that can only be learned truly if we understand our â??placeâ?? in the greater whole. We are no different to that wooden woman. We came from the One into the One and so we are the One. Who is it that thinks they can form us, dress us and then give us life? Nobody owns us. To own is an anagram of now and in the now we exist. Whether your family, your town, your school or your employer or even your political or religious leaders â?? they all claim ownership at one time or another. And yet not one of them owns you just because they taught you, gave you life, gave you reason, clothed you or employed you. No ruler rules you. You are the same as everybody and everything else and no matter what another gives you it does not empower them above you.

You may be a small piece of the holographic universe, but within you is the whole picture right now.

â??Gnosisâ?? Book Review by Author Dwayne Sheffield

It has been a while since Iâ??ve read such refreshing and documented material as I have in reading Philip Gardinerâ??s book, Gnosis / The Secret of Solomonâ??s Temple Revealed. Philip leads gently, at first, into the workings and underpinnings of esoteric philosophy and its use in sacred writ throughout known history.

Winding his way through the â??Serpentâ?? and how it is thread through ancient allegory and metaphor is a flash back to some of his other works and books. The analogies he reminds us of throughout The Kundalini, The Shining, The Void - are truly inspiring.

His examination of Ancient Religious Textâ?? is not shy of hitting the mark of integrating the esoteric perception understandable in them all, and in layman sensibilities.

In chapter nine, â??Solomonâ??s Secretâ??sâ??, Philip, leaving his gentle persuasion ethics, adds a paragraph, The Journey To Enlightenment from â??Confession of Faithâ?? of a Polish Cabalistic Sect known as Soharites, 19 century. Taken from the New Baptist Magazine, April 1927. And from here on out, the ride is spiritually exhilarating.

At the end of the book Philip has added, in Appendix A, The Knowledge Dictionary for a comprehensive overview of the explanation of Coptic, Gnostic and other ancient and modern words from A to Z that is used in his book and other writings so the reader may have a complete understanding of what the words mean and how they are used.

To top all this off thereâ??s a complete Bibliography and Index section that satisfies the entire experience of reading this book. I have traveled over 45 years in these realms and find nothing I can disagree with. This is a very good and easy read. Well written for the hungry and thirsty of wisdom and spiritual enlightenment.

INTRODUCTION

A seven-year old boy called Boriska from the Volgograd region began to tell his family of his life on Mars, its inhabitants and civilisation. He said he knew of Earth and Lemuria in very specific detail. He possessed profound knowledge and a high intellect (Pravda, Sept 2004, Russia).

Boriska displayed signs of extraordinary behaviour. At two weeks of age he was able to raise his head, spoke his first word at four months and as a one-year-old, Boriska could read the large print of a newspaper.

With precision and clarity, he recounted his knowledge of Mars, planetary systems and their inhabitants. He spoke about the gifted kids which he referred to as â??indigosâ?? and of their essential role in assisting humanity during the anticipated Earth Changes.

Is humanity changing as a species?

The new kids on the block: A global phenomenon.

Renowned prophet and healer Edgar Cayce (1877-1945) not only spoke of a new humanity and referred to it as the 5th Root race but he also predicted that it would appear in the years 1998 to 2010.

Metaphysicians and other gurus also share the belief and the anticipation of this recent emergence of the new type of human they call Indigos. They are also referred to as Children of the New Millennium, Crystal Children, Children of Light, Golden Children, to mention a few.

The ufology community is conducting research into the extraterrestrial phenomenon experienced by children. Their explorations thus far have produced such terms as the New Humans or, more commonly, Star Children.

The profiles of the Indigo children share the same attributes or are strikingly similar. They are highly intelligent, creative, psychic, telepathic and posses healing and clairvoyant abilities.

The Indigo children also share an inherent capacity to articulately express knowledge and awareness of deep spiritual concepts, historical, anthropological and scientific data, far beyond the capacity of even the most learned scholars, regardless of their age, level of cognitive development, education and numerous other pertinent factors.

This confronting evidence has even captured the attention and interest of the Chinese government who are researching children who possess â??exceptional human functioningâ?? (EHF), more commonly referred to as â??Chinaâ??s Super Psychicsâ??.

Unfortunately, this research also suggests that these children are so different that they are often misunderstood and described as suffering from ADD (attention deficit disorder).

In this article we will explore the extraordinary qualities and states of consciousness demonstrated by the Indigo children and the inference of the emerging New Humans.

Despite the plethora of information and supporting evidence, this phenomenon still manages to defy our logic and challenges our beliefs and yet it is scientifically supported.

Everything seems to suggest that humanity is on the verge of an evolutionary quantum leap. If we accept this premise, is it not plausible that the phenomenon related to extraterrestrial experience is equally valid and could offer a reasonable explanation for these developments?

Metaphysicians who speak about the emerging New Humans have professional, psychological and medical science backgrounds. Doreen Virtue, (The Crystal Children) has a PhD, and an MA and BA degree in Counselling Psychology. The publication The Indigo Children (1999) by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober took information from psychologists and therapists. The research in China is sponsored by the government and suggests that the phenomenon is taken seriously. Ufology researchers, too, have credible science, medical and psychological backgrounds.

If we are changing as a species, ufology offers a reasonable explanation. Scientific, biological and anthropological anomalies certainly suggest some form of intervention in the evolution of Homo sapiens. The missing link in our evolutionary tree certainly indicates a primary intervention in our genetic make-up. If this is the case, then the New Humans may well have been orchestrated in a similar way with genetic upgrades in our DNA. But the present upgrade is so radical that it appears like an evolutionary jump start, hence the name the New Humans.

If humanity is experiencing a quantum leap in its evolution, why is it happening now? Star Children believe they are here to â??guide the awakening of terrestrial consciousnessâ?? (Tracey Taylor). But how will this be achieved?

New scientific research could provide us with some of those answers and may qualify what the Star Children seem to understand, such as their role in the awakening of human consciousness. It may also explain why our connections to extraterrestrials could be far more intimate than we have previously suspected, as well as why they are currently so interested in us.

Extraterrestrial contact and genetic manipulation?

UFOs and their appearance in our airspace have been systematically ridiculed as pure nonsense by governments for years. This has been an effective strategy, despite the evidence that one in ten people see such craft. Ridicule and disinformation has meant that most people will hesitate to speak of what they have seen, let alone admit they had any interactions with such craft. Evidence in the form of photographs, hours of video footage and credible testimony from airline pilots and military personnel seems to mean nothing. Even the radar sightings which confirm this reality are hidden from public view.

A medical practitioner, Dr Stephen Greer, supports a disclosure program and owns videotape of hundreds of hours of testimony from high ranking military personal. They all confirm that UFOs are real and that there is a systemic and deliberate cover up by government agencies. Retired American Army and NATO Command Sergeant-Major Robert Dean in the 1960s and 70s guarded COSMIC-classified files which showed that government agencies were fully aware that extraterrestrials and UFOs regularly penetrated our airspace.

Compelling as this is, the evidence of such craft in our skies is really a very small part of this phenomenon. Surely we have to ask who is controlling these craft and why are they here? Robert Dean believes that we are very closely connected to aliens, both spiritually and physically, and suggests that they are responsible for the Star Child phenomenon. The development of a new humanity called Homo Noeticus is a term coined by John White who studied parapsychology and noetics (the investigation of consciousness). Many well-known researchers such as English author and UFO investigator Jenny Randles agree. She wrote about this in Star Children: The True Story of Alien Offspring Among Us.

It has been shown that contact experience is an inter-generational one and that such children appear to be more intelligent, exhibit extraordinary psychic and intuitive abilities and have knowledge that they have not consciously learnt. Ufology research shows that consistent genetic lines play an important factor in this phenomenon.

Podiatry surgeon, Dr Roger Leir, is renowned in ufology for his pioneering surgery removing alleged alien implants and his autobiographical book The Aliens and the Scalpel. Dr Leir included the phenomenon of Star Children in his research. He writes that â??I believe that any mother that looks at her recently born child, in comparison with children born twenty years ago, will testify that there is a tremendous difference. Some look upon the differences in the New Humans and say they have to do with better prenatal care etc. In my opinion this supposition is nonsense AND IN LIGHT OF MY MORE RECENT STUDIES AND EXPOSURE TO THE ABDUCTION PHENOMENON, I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE RAPID ADVANCEMENT OF OUR HUMAN SPECIES IS DUE TO ALIEN INTERVENTION IN OUR BODIES AND MINDSâ??.

Dr Leir has based his statement not only on research into alien implants but from his observations of children. Comparing todayâ??s statistics on the developmental stages in young children to forty years ago (when such records and studies began) he discovered that the level of higher psychological functioning in some cases was increased by as much as much as 80%. The question is, how could this happen? Dr Leir: â??I suggest that the answer involves alien manipulation of human geneticsâ?? (The Aliens and the Scalpel, p.192).

Recent genetic research could qualify this starling revelation. There are unexplainable anomalies in our genetic history and in 2003 it was discovered that 223 genes do not have the required predecessors on our geonomic evolutionary tree. These extra genes are completely missing in the invertebrate phrase. Therefore scientists can only explain their presence as recent in evolutionary time scale, and comment that this was not through gradual evolution, vertically on the tree of life, but horizontally as a â??side ways insertion of genetic materialâ??. Significantly these 223 genes are two-thirds the difference between the chimpanzee and Homo sapiens and include important psychological and psychiatric functions. How did humanity acquire such enigmatic genes? Dr Leir and other researchers believe the answer may well be extraterrestrial genetic intervention!

Dr Richard Boylan, an American behavioural scientist, anthropologist and clinical hypnotherapist, has studied Star Children phenomenon and their connection to close encounter experience. He offers a precise profile of the New Humans and our intimate connection to extraterrestrials, or Star Visitors as he calls them. Dr Boylan is secretary of ACCET (the Academy of Clinical Close Encounter Therapists) in the USA, a professional body that encourages medical and psychological professions to be involved in this phenomenon. Boylan is convinced that Star Children are a reality and has created an organisation to support and educate families with these children. As president of the Star Kids Project (SKP) he organises workshops for Star Kids to help them and their parents cope with their extra psychic and intuitive abilities. He explains that the Star Child maybe defined as a child of both human and extraterrestrial origin. The ET contribution to the childâ??s make-up may come from genetic engineering, from biomedical technology and from telepathic consciousness linking. Star Kids are psychically and metaphysically changed as a result of their own contacts with the â??visitorsâ?? or ETs modifying their parentâ??s reproductive DNA.â?? He also believes that there is a link to what we now label Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), a syndrome which almost magically appeared about 15-20 years ago when more of these children began to be recognised.

Dr Boylan and Doreen Virtue believe that these children are often misdiagnosed with syndromes as questionable as ADD. One reason Dr Boylan suggests is that â??these kids are just crushingly bored with the slow, pedestrian way they are being educatedâ?? and that is why they often misbehave. Doreen Virtue suggests that Indigo and Crystal children can be also diagnosed as autistic or having Aspergerâ??s syndrome. More research is warranted to explore such possibilities.

There are numerous accounts where the contactee or experiencer recalls details of their genetic material being harvested. Dr John Mack, former Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School wrote about the subject of genetic material being taken in his book Abduction. I have covered this important fact in my book Awakening, in the chapter on missing pregnancies. Many of my clients, both male and female, recall experiences when this procedure occurred. Some women also believe that their genetic material has been taken and altered in some way prior to their pregnancy. They say they knew the child was different or special because of this. What I found astonishing was that many of these children seemed to have an awareness that they were different. A letter to ACERN states:

â??Yes I have always believed I was from elsewhere, and, like I said, I used to speak and write in a strange language in private. Sometimes, even in front of my mum, I used to cry because I felt so different. I would tell her not to touch me, as it was dangerous, and I am not yours. I am one of them. When the greys used to leave, I would get upset and believe they had left me behind, which made me angry and upset. I have memories of planets with golden buildingsâ?? â?? James Basil (UK).

What are these differences, apart from higher physical and psychological functioning? Generally they are enhanced psychic and intuitive abilities, with an awareness of universal knowledge and even their true genetic origins. â??I am not yoursâ?? implies that some Star Children are aware they are connected in some way to the extraterrestrial beings who visit them.

Psychic/intuitive abilities.
Multi-dimensionally awareness; they perceive a broader range of reality.

Awareness of scientific, historical, anthropological and spiritual knowledge not consciously learnt. Sometimes called â??knowledge bombsâ??.

Extremely empathic to all creatures, not just humans but animals and plants.
They can communicate with the unseen world, spirits and angels.
Multi-dimensional healing abilities.
Manifest unusual artwork, languages and scripts.
They experience dreams where they are being taught how to use their high sense abilities on space craft.
Dual consciousness; feeling part human and part extraterrestrial.
Have a sense of mission or higher purpose.
From a letter (USA):â??I started walking at 8 months, talking in sentences by 10 months, and how to read at 2 years; no one taught me. I had friends who walked through walls, became invisible, and we spoke telepathically. I desperately wanted to go home.â??

David from Perth, Western Australia (now in his late twenties) said about his childhood psychic and telepathic abilities: â??I would have telepathic conversations with my sister until she told me to stop being lazy and start talking.â??

Some of the older Star Children are able to explain their abilities and ET connections more precisely. Ann Andrews, author of Abducted, wrote about her familyâ??s extraterrestrial contacts. They live in England and have had lifelong interactions with ETs. Jason, her youngest son, exhibits many of these higher senses, regularly astral travels and even heals individuals in this dream state.

Jason told his mother how the Star Child profile fitted him. Jason, like many other Star Children, complains about the bulkiness of his human body, saying how limited it is. He was tight lipped about his experiences for a long time because he said it was hard to trust anyone because you never know who they are working for. He was very serious when he asked Ann if I thought it was very strange that after hundreds of years of slow progress we had suddenly come on in leaps and bounds in just fifty years. According to Jason, â??theyâ?? (including himself) gave us the relevant knowledge. They showed us how to split the atom and harness nuclear power so that we might finally meet them as equals. However, he says angrily that we have turned all this knowledge into power over others less fortunate than ourselves, for example with atomic weapons. But when asked about genetic engineering, Jason said â??it is the ETs who choose the parentsâ??. The children are genetically altered before they are born. â??They are given extraterrestrial DNA.â??

Again it appears that many of the children know about their mixed human and ET gene pool. This was demonstrated to me quite graphically when a confused young mother told me about her ten-year-old son. She said that whilst out walking with him one day, her son very casually told her the actual percentage of ET genes in every person they passed!

The extraterrestrial education program, telepathic communication and more.

Five-year-old Aiden from Western Australia says â??I donâ??t mind going through the walls, and they teach me more on the ships than I learn at school. They come through walls, float not walk, become invisible, but are still around!â?? His mother writes, â??This astounds me. He is very blasé about it and says he will introduce them to me one day! Aiden knows what I am thinking, finishes my sentences for me, and feels pain when I doâ?? (from Awakening, 2002).

Star Children can be aware of extraterrestrial educational programs when information is downloaded on a subconscious or super-conscious level. Jena is an eight-year-old girl in Perth who described this process as â??knowledge bombsâ?? in her head, which sometimes hurt. They can have strange dreams where they know they are on-board spacecraft. They are taught to use their higher sense abilities and they know when they have done well at such tests.

Whitley Strieber, experiencer and author of The Secret School, also experienced such lessons on spacecraft. This testimony certainly suggests that the New Humans are not only upgraded physically and psychologically, but are also taught to operate on a broader multi-dimensional frequency which helps them access information and knowledge not available to others.

Tracey Taylor, who intuitively draws complex artwork and symbols related to her ET experiences, wrote â??As for my own contact experiences, I have become very compassionate towards ET beings, there is much that humans can learn and benefit by interacting with them. Initially I didnâ??t know what was going on or why, but there has always been an equal exchange. I helped them to achieve their genetic goals and, in return, developed my healing and psychic abilities, plus my understanding of life on earth.â??

â??Star children are born with greater wisdom and awareness, and are also gifted creatively. They have a great feeling of being connected to nature and all that exists. They are the bringers of the new, the bringers of light, they are here to guide the awakening of terrestrial consciousness.â?? So, if the new humanity is already here, whatever we choose to call them, how is this awakening of terrestrial consciousness orchestrated? The answer may well be contained in the creative expressions and data connected to contact experience.

Breaking down the barriers. The limits of traditional ufology research.

Traditional ufology attempts to convince the general public of UFO reality with research focused primarily on UFO sightings and other such scientific data. Although this approach is important, I believe it is far too limited a perspective for such a complex phenomenon. Some ufologists still exhibit ambivalence towards the abduction or contact phenomenon. This is despite the many thousands of credible people and families who experience such a reality, and tangible data such as unusual marks the body, missing time and implants, which are the anomalies that can verify this reality. It seems that no matter how profound the evidence, some will still argue that it is far too insubstantial to be taken seriously. Likewise, they ignore any mixture of spiritual or metaphysical interpretations, or psychological and emotional evidence, despite the degree to which these experiences can dramatically change an individualâ??s personal paradigm. Such information may just convince sceptical researchers that the experiencer is psychologically impaired. This is especially true of any information that experiencers receive telepathically or express in other ways.

I disagree totally with such a limited perspective and believe that if we are to understand contact more fully we have to be receptive to any physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual data that is linked to this phenomenon.

ACERN provides professional support for experiencers. Since 1996 I have received volumes of data and personal testimony that have convinced me of contact reality. But I was particularly intrigued to find that, despite the enormous fear some people experienced (and this is by no means standard), many were more traumatised by isolation and judgement than their experiences. What I discovered was that such experiences were eventually life changing and transformational.

Are these experiences transformational because such individuals are exposed to a broader spectrum of reality or is it more than that?

I found that individuals who received support regained their equilibrium and accepted a broader frame of reality, which obviously changed their perspectives in many ways, both psychologically and spiritually. This integration meant that they now became more peaceful and open to their contact experiences. But I also felt it was their new openness to the extraordinary data they received which made their changes so profound.

Although such extraordinary data is treated with ambivalence, if not disinterest, by some researchers, it is common knowledge that creativity and artistic expression is one way that human beings express human experience. There is no doubt that contact experience can inspire some individuals to draw the extraterrestrial life forms they interact with, and that many of them look identical, which I believe is further testament to this reality. Likewise, they may draw unusual landscapes of planets, with which they can have a deep emotional connection. The landscapes may sometimes be strikingly similar, as are some of the artwork, symbols and written scripts. Sometimes they vocalise strange languages without conscious thought, and articulate them more fluidly than their normal human language.

In researching these matters we need to recognise our own limits and that we are unaware of what we donâ??t know. I felt that, no matter how unusual or challenging this material was, if it is part of the contact experience then we cannot afford to ignore it.

Researching a broader paradigm requires an open mind, and by that I mean being open to all data. Thorough researcher seeks to reconcile this data with science fact as much as possible. It is always profound and exciting for me when conventional science comes to the rescue and offers a possible explanation. But what is even more fascinating is when the scientific explanations are so similar to what experiencers themselves have intuitively understood.

Expressions of ET contact: a visual communication and healing blueprint?

The strange expressions of contact; stunning images, symbols, drawings of strange planets, languages and unusual scripts is a fascinating enigma. I initially collated such data so experiencers could compare notes. I found that, when shared with other experiencers, the material was extraordinarily helpful in assisting them to honour and validate their own contact.

The ACERN video Expressions of ET Contact: A Visual Blueprint? was an attempt to share this information with the ufology community and experiencers. We discovered that our lack of expertise in film making did not detract from the material or the stories. I am certain that the two film awards presented at the International UFO Congress in the USA came from the impact of these images, because they seemed to connect with individuals at some deep level, whether they were experiencers or not! The 2004 sequel video Expressions of ET Contact: A Communication and Healing Blueprint? was similar but explored the subject from a more global perspective. Again, the combination of languages, art, scripts and personal stories touched a deep chord with people, creating strong emotional reactions and resonance.

The average experiencer believes such expressions are contact communications, containing complex holographic data which helps us to connect with who and what we are. Energetic signatures, perhaps, containing blocks of coding, like holographic blueprints, which we absorb on many levels.

â??It should be born in mind that the nature of extraterrestrial communications is that, in a majority of instances, star visitors communicate with humans by telepathic transfer of mental images and concepts, rather than by words and speechâ?? â?? Marie.

In his video review column, Duncan Roads, editor of Nexus magazine wrote: â??These Expressions of ET Contact videos are two of the most amazing documentaries you will ever watch. I donâ??t count myself as being a "sensitive" person at all, but I can assure you that I felt things "shifting inside of me" as I watched the videos. In fact, at least 15 minutes of one video that I watched I donâ??t remember a thing about! I am sure viewers will also be surprised at the large number and variety of different life-forms visiting and interacting with us. It becomes clear that as contacts between "us" and "them" progresses, more and more information is being transmitted. Amongst the many people featured by Mary Rodwell in these documentaries, most are currently of the opinion that there are many life forms "out there" that are trying to assist humanity â?? now, more than ever. This assistance can take many forms; however, it is obvious that most of the assistance is via information packets transmitted to us.â??

Roads continues: â??Yet obviously it is still early days in the "getting to know you" process, so a lot of the information relayed to humans is still very basic, i.e., what "they" look like, what "they" are like and how our "reality" is but one of zillions of valid but different realities. The interviews are most interesting and compelling. And the artwork "does things to you" when you look at it. The paintings of the ETs or aliens ("beings" is probably a better word) are just riveting. One gets the "feeling" of what the being is "like" just by looking at these paintings â?? a result of the extra information packets transmitted by the artist, perhaps? â?¦ These videos are more in the category of "spiritual awakening", but this is a result of the content and (probably) not the intention of the producers.â?? â?? Duncan Roads (video review, Nexus, Aug-Sept 2004, p.78).

Communication and reprogramming of our DNA, by language, and frequencies?

Are telepathic transfer of mental images and concepts communication from aliens. SETI (the official search for extraterrestrial intelligence) still argues that they have not received any anomalous radio signals to suggest extraterrestrial life exists. Whether this is the truth or not, that is their official line. But perhaps extraterrestrials would find radio transmissions a very primitive way to communicate. If we listen to experiencers, they say it is more likely to happen through multi-dimensional levels of human consciousness.

â??This communication happens because everything is made up of the same matter resonating at different harmonics, so that the ETs are able to communicate with us, directing thought on subatomic levels, and so activate subconscious interaction. This is interpreted by the conscious mind as a simplified form of communication, such as symbology. Symbols are meant to communicate the nature of the macrocosm.â?? â?? T.T., experiencer (WA).

There is no doubt that such expressions although not yet consciously quantifiable, certainly connect to a deep resonance within people, in the same way as crop circles do. Interestingly, some of the crop circle symbols are actually contained within some of the symbols the experiencers create and itâ??s possible both phenomena may well be connected. Certainly we know that by viewing or standing in the crop circles many people feel something, as they also do with viewing the videos. Duncan Roads admits that, although he believes he is not particularly sensitive, he also felt something by seeing these images.

In the eastern states of Australia, a male hypnotherapist told me he felt that one particular symbol had affected his third eye centre, feeling a strange buzzing (interestingly this is the spot in the middle of the forehead through which some psychic abilities supposedly manifest). This certainly suggests that these expressions act as a trigger or catalyst for something within us. Some experiencers believe this data has frequencies which affect us energetically on a subconscious level, acting like a holographic program.

Is there a scientific basis to support the hypotheses that such communications or expressions can actually affect or talk to us, even to our DNA?

New Russian research offers support for such a possibility, which means that reliable scientific investigations are now actually beginning to explain what experiencers have intuitively known all along.

Some recent Russian DNA discoveries documented by Grazyna Fosar and Franz Bludorf in their book Vernetzte Intelligenz have been summarised by Baerbel. â??The human DNA is a biological Internetâ?? with evidence that DNA can be â??influenced and reprogrammed by words and frequencies.â?? This suggests that â??our DNA is not only responsible for the construction of our body, but also serves as data storage and communication.â?? The Russian scientists and linguists have found that the genetic code â??follows the same rules as all our human languages.â?? In effect, human language did not appear coincidentally but is a reflection of our DNA.

The Russian researchers believe that â??Living chromosomes function just like a holographic computer using endogenous DNA laser radiation. This means that they managed to modulate certain frequency patterns (sound) onto a laser-like ray which influence DNA frequency and thus the genetic information itself. Since the basic structure of DNA-alkaline pairs and language is of the same structure, no DNA decoding is necessary. One can simply use words and sentences of the human language! This, too, was experimentally proven!â?? Of course the frequency has to be correct. (I recommend that the article be read in full.) But for the purposes of this article, the Russian research shows how science now can demonstrate a way to reprogram DNA through language and frequencies.

Experiencers who manifest unusual languages, such as Rochelle (see the video Expressions of ET Contact: A Communication and Healing Blueprint?) call these â??soul languagesâ??. Rochelle vocalises them when doing energy work and healing. Healing with sound and frequencies takes on a new meaning in this context. It could mean that Rochelle and others like her may well intuitively be able to change or reprogram DNA though such frequencies while healing. We already know that our subconscious is affected by subliminal frequencies and hypnosis, and the Russian research may have given us a scientific explanation why such techniques work so well. The question is whether the specific frequencies of these languages are designed to affect or reprogram our human DNA? This may well give us grounds for reviewing ancient texts in regards to our origins.

This bible quote may be more than just symbolic rhetoric. In the Book of John (chapter 1: verse 1) it is written: â??In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with Godâ?? and verse 14 states: â??And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt amongst usâ??.

The Russian DNA research article coincidentally mentions the changes in our children in terms of group consciousness. They comment that â??if humans with full individuality would regain group consciousness they would have a godlike power to create, alter and shape things on Earth and humanity is collectively moving towards a group consciousness of a new kind.â?? They state that â??fifty percent of children will become a problem as soon as they go to school, since the system lumps everyone together and demands adjustment. But the individuality of todayâ??s children is so strong that they refuse this adjustment and resist giving up their idiosyncrasies. â?¦ At the same time more and more clairvoyant children are being born. Something in those children is striving more towards group consciousness of a new kind and it can no longer be suppressed.â??

Are the Russian researchers in fact referring to what is now called the ADD (attention deficit disorder) child? Unfortunately, because there is no funded global research itâ??s hard to gain accurate statistics. But, if the process of labelling children as ADD is an indicator of this phenomenon, then we are indeed evolving at an astounding rate.

The global perspective and more pieces fit the puzzle: Science, anthropology, theology, archaeology and the kids.

This short article entitled â??Learning to communicate with extraterrestrials: young children in India-China Himalaya use strange sign languageâ?? appeared on the website of India Daily (29 Jan 2005) by a staff reporter:

â??In the deep region of Himalayas, people are reporting strange behaviours in children. The children are using sign languages which are unknown to their families and anyone around. Many of the children draw pictures of triangular objects flying in the sky. Many of them do not know what they saw and how they learnt these sign languages. Some in the region of Aksai Chin believe that these children regularly communicate with the extraterrestrials who are only visible to these children and communicate via telepathy. The children learn the sign language to communicate back to these beings. According to UFO research materials, some Mexican children also manifest similar behaviour, when many in the area reported for a long time UFO sightings. â?¦ According to some teachers in the schools in that area, young children are extra agile and extra talented these days. Their problem solving skills have increased and they are much more disciplined. They continually use a strange sign language among themselves. However they cannot teach this language to adults! Families have contacted me from all over the globe, not only from Australia, Europe, North and South America, but Asia and Russia, and all describe children advanced from the norm in psychological and physical development and with exceptional psychic abilities.

In Mexico City these same New Humans have begun to emerge, and it is said that over 1000 children are able to â??seeâ?? with various parts of their bodies. In some countries, government agencies interested in such children are actively researching the phenomenon. China has a program for investigating children with similar abilities, which is taken very seriously by the Chinese Government in Beijing. The book Chinaâ??s Super Psychics by Paul Dong and Thomas Raffill describes children with exceptional human functioning (EHF) who display similar patterns to Indigo or Star Children. They, too, are very psychic and intuitive, for example some have the ability to open flower buds by thought alone. And like the Mexican children, many have shown an ability to see with other parts of their bodies. They display telekinetic abilities as well as other fascinating multi-dimensional skills, such as sensing anotherâ??s thoughts (telepathy). It has also been reported that the Chinese government has observed these children changing the human DNA molecule in a petri dish before cameras and scientific equipment to record this supposedly impossible feat. We have no evidence to prove that these abilities are the result of extraterrestrial interventions. But, given the fact that the Chinese government is very secretive, this may well be something they do not feel ready to share. However, I am told that the Chinese are extremely interested in the UFO phenomenon and take it very seriously.

More pieces of the puzzle.

Although I canâ??t cover all my research in this article, I can give the reader some points to ponder. The late Francis Crick, Nobel Prize winner, co-discoverer of the shape of the DNA molecule and author of Life Itself, made the astounding claim â??that an advanced civilisation transported the seeds of life in a spacecraftâ??! One wonders what led him to such an incredible conclusion. References in religious and biblical texts certainly raise questions as to our real origins. Anthropology still canâ??t explain how we changed or morphed so dramatically from Neanderthal to Homo sapiens and the missing link has not been discovered or explanations given on how the developmental gap was bridged. Biblical scholar, Zecheria Sitchin, author of the Earth Chronicles suggests such answers could lie in ancient religious texts, such as the Bible. According to Sitchen, the Bible is a condensed rendering of ancient Sumerian and Akkadian texts. From his research he believes that Homo sapiens was a genetic upgrade of existing hominids which was undertaken by extraterrestrial beings called the Nephilim who came to Earth 450,000 years ago.

Indigenous tribes worldwide have within their oral history that they are visited by sky beings and are being genetically upgraded. The Dogan tribe (African Mali Tribe) call the star visitors the Nummo, an alien species which came from Sirius and genetically upgraded humans when they came to Earth. The Aborigines of Australia also talk of the sky beings Wandjina, who made them and gave them laws to live by.

Many sacred texts apart from the Bible raise similar questions. Will Hart, author of The Dawn of the Genesis Race notes references to God in â??pluralityâ??. Genesis, verse 26, states â??Then God said, and now we will make human beings, they will be like us and resemble us.â?? The question is, who are â??usâ???

For those who seek to explore, there are many such anomalies in archaeological, anthropological, religious and spiritual texts that must guide the thinking person to question what we are educated to believe in terms of our origins and genetic heritage. But, the most compelling evidence comes from the testimony of children, many of them not old enough to read. Itâ??s information so profound one has to wonder how and where they obtained it.

Mike Oram (experiencer) resides in the United Kingdom. He told me that he was only 4 years old when he told his mother that there was no such thing as death. His mother disagreed, but Mike said â??the Universe goes on for eternity and itâ??s not true that we no longer play a part in the Universe. We come back.â?? â??I was too young to know the word reincarnationâ??, he said. â??I then shocked her by saying "You are not my real parents, my parents are in space, and something of incredible importance will happen in this planet and it will affect all levels of consciousness, it will not happen in your life time but it will in mine." My poor mother never forgot that conversation.â?? (Mike Oram)

Colin Wilson in Alien Dawn (1998) wrote that not long before Andrija Puharichâ??s death he asked him what he was working on. â??Paranormal childrenâ??, he said: â??You wouldnâ??t believe how many of these kids are out there, they seem to be at genius level. I know dozens, and there are probably thousands.â?? Wilson concludes, â??And this, I suspect is the beginning of the change that the UFOs are working onâ?? (p.309).

Unfortunately many such phenomena are only recognised through a particular disciplineâ??s limited field of study, and this sadly narrows the perspective. There is no doubt that, for some, the extraterrestrial hypothesis is a hard one to swallow. But even if (for now) we interpret this data from a desire to understand why we may be evolving so rapidly, as this research suggests, we need to be open to all possibilities. Even if the puzzle is just perceived as another way of understanding ourselves, the question remains that, if we are evolving at an accelerated rate than cannot be explained in normal evolutionary terms, how and why is it happening?

Are Star Children, New Humans, Indigos and smart kids, etc, one and the same phenomenon? If they are, then the extraterrestrial hypothesis makes more sense. After all, it is ludicrous for the thinking person to believe we are the only intelligent life in the universe, given the vastness of space. And it is logical to believe that some of those other life forms may have evolved sufficiently to be able to visit us, even if how they travel here may be beyond our current scientific understanding.

The hypothesis of extraterrestrial reality is not only possible but also probable and explains many anomalies in our origins, our mythology and religions. Certainly, if what experiencers and indigenous people tell us is true, we have a very intimate and on-going relationship with the visitors, in addition to a common gene pool. This would certainly explain their continuing interest and participation in our evolutionary development.

The primitive and aggressive nature of Homo sapiens, armed with technology to destroy not only each other but our beautiful planet, may well be why these ET ancestors have decided to accelerate humanityâ??s evolutionary upgrade program. A New Human with multi-level awareness of our cosmic connection to all that is, may well be the only way we will finally appreciate what we have, change our behaviour, and grow up to take full responsibility for ourselves and this beautiful planet.

The Star Children could be an integral part of this wake up call and it may be that through them we are being led to an understanding of this profound connection.

Iceland to Resume Whale Hunting, Defying Global Ban

(Bloomberg) -- Iceland will resume commercial whale hunting for the first time in two decades, disregarding a global effort to outlaw the practice.

Iceland issued a permit to hunt 30 minke whales and nine fin whales, the Ministry of Fisheries said on its Web site yesterday. Finance Minister Arni Mathiesen in an interview said whaling is ``part of what Iceland is about'' and will help the economy.

Commercial whale hunting was outlawed by the International Whaling Commission in 1986 as populations dwindled, and Iceland ceased commercial whaling in 1989. At the same time, the country continued to hunt whales for research purposes, a practice permitted by the IWC. Countries including Japan and Norway have also killed whales for research reasons.

``The decision makes no economic sense and should be retracted immediately,'' Greenpeace spokeswoman Sarah Duthie said in an e- mailed statement. ``Iceland has no market for whale meat, but they do have a huge and far more valuable market for whale watching.''

Iceland is a stunning, pristine land that attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, many of them to go whale watching in the clear arctic waters. Greenpeace has launched a "Whale tourism pledge" which nearly 70,000 people have signed: promising to visit Iceland if the government stops whaling.

That represents more than 80 million USD in potential tourist revenue for Iceland -- against a commercial whaling programme which was worth less than 4 million USD per annum in its heyday.

Help convince Iceland that whales are worth more alive than dead: take the pledge. If you've already taken the pledge, send this message to Tourism officials in Iceland.

Wherever whaling has been practised it has devastated populations of whales. When the International Whaling Commission (IWC) was formed in 1946, its preamble noted that 'the history of whaling has seen overfishing of one area after another and of one species of whale after another to such a degree that it is essential to protect all species of whales from further overfishing'. But despite this clear recognition of the problem the IWC was unable to stop it, instead presiding over the decimation of species after species. It is still not known if some species will ever recover, even after decades of protection.

This devastation happened because the reproductive rate of whales is low and the monetary value of individual whales was high. Given this, it might seem sensible to you and me for whalers to strictly limit their catches in order to secure a future for their industry, but a short-sighted economic reality meant that whalers tended to catch as much as they could, as quickly as they could.

We oppose all commercial whaling and have done so since 1975 when we carried out a direct action at sea against Soviet whalers. Since then we have done actions against whalers from Australia, Brazil, Iceland, Peru, Japan, Norway and Spain. Many of these countries now oppose whaling, only Iceland, Japan and Norway continue.

The blue whales of the Antarctic are still at less than 1 percent of their original abundance despite 40 years of complete protection. Some populations of whales are recovering but some are not. Only one population, the East Pacific grey whale, is thought to be near its original abundance but the closely related West Pacific grey whale population is the most endangered in the world hovering on the edge of extinction with just over 100 remaining. The number of Antarctic whales is less than 10 percent of what it was before whaling began.

Consumption and contamination
Whaling is no longer the only threat to whales. The oceans have changed dramatically over the half century in which the IWC has been attempting to manage whale populations. Known environmental threats to whales include global climate change, pollution, overfishing, ozone depletion, noise and ship strikes. Overfishing threatens the food supply of whales and, in addition, whales are at risk as a result of entanglement in fishing gear.

Whale blubber is now contaminated with organochlorines including PCBs, substances known to damage development of the young and affect reproduction. The blubber of dead toothed whales found in some areas contain such high levels of organochlorines that they would be classified as toxic waste.

Despite all of these threats an increasing number of nations in the International Whaling Commission (IWC) are voting for an immediate resumption of commercial whaling. This is not because of a change in world opinion; it is because the Fisheries Agency of Japan is operating what it calls a 'vote consolidation program' which gives fisheries aid to developing countries in return for their vote at the IWC. When the IWC agreed the moratorium on whaling in 1982 it had 37 active members, 7 of which supported continued whaling. At its most recent meeting in Ulsan, Korea it had 66 active members and 23 of them voted for an immediate resumption of commercial whaling.

Expectations for the recovery of whale populations have been based on the assumption that, except for commercial whaling, their place in the oceans is as secure as it was a hundred years ago. Sadly, this assumption is no longer valid.

Work In Progress

For those people who have been emailing me asking what I am working on now. Well, there is a top secret book that is currently being put together that I have been working on for some time but have been waiting on some new info from University of Texas which I got today, so that's getting there.

I have been asked to add another 10000 words to the fiction I wrote by the publisher because they want to turn it into a hard back. So, that's Christmas shot.

I have started another book in the meantime (whilst waiting for Texas). And so am about 1/5th into that.

In March 2007 there's the new book The Ark, The Shroud and Mary due out along with the DVD, which I have just finished going through the editing on with the guys. That's gonna be real fun to see what the "media" make of it and how they try to kill me off.

Yesterday I spent the day with Crichton Miller, the author of The Golden Thread of Time, directing the forthcoming DVD about the Celtic Cross. Crichton will have the book launched worldwide next year along with this new DVD, so I am looking forward to that also.

I have about 3 or 4 more radio shows to finish off now too, which I am so glad about because I have nearly lost my voice with all this talking!

Tradition is a Treasure Chest of Quantum Reality

Tradition is not simply something we imagine our grandparents had. It is not just something those stuffy looking pompous Englishmen re-enact everyday in Parliament or that wonderfully colourful changing of the guard outside the gates of Buckingham Palace. No, there is much more depth and one that explains to us why the Freemasons and others ritually enact the same 'tradition' with every passing day.

Our English term tradition comes from Traditio, a Latin word meaning the 'delivery of doctrine' and 'surrender', but more pertinent to us it means 'something handed down.' There is depth here as many will know, for this 'something handed down' is not just the old pocket watch that our ancestors sported in the 19th century and has been passed from one generation to another. No, tradition is also the continuance of something much more profound, much more in-tune with the Da Vinci Code concept of the bloodline.

In the very first usage of the word we find that it was in fact used for the passing on of doctrine and religious dogma - a sacred act itself and something which became symbolic. The word 'sacred' itself comes from Old Latin saceres meaning to bind, restrict, enclose and protect. And this is where much of the truth lies - in symbolism and sacredness, for both are binding and surrendering to something being passed down. The acts of those parliamentarians and the guard at Buckingham Palace are symbolic and sacred acts, representing something other than the physical and literal things we see. The same is true of religious tradition. There is no truth that the taking of the bread and wine at the Eucharist ritual - a tradition seen across the world - actually is the body and blood of Jesus Christ. No, the act is symbolic and solemnly reminds the religious initiate of the fact that he is part of a greater Christian brotherhood; that he is accepting Christ and that His body was broken and blood spilt for us and that he is a continuation of a long line. Whatever ones opinion on that religious act, the fact remains that it is a very powerful tool for reminding the masses of their place in the world via an act that is emotionally strong.

As we can now see, tradition can be a very strong device when allied to emotion and psychologists have discovered that allegorical tales are very often better absorbed than any literal telling.

In this allegorical or symbolic respect there are other words that also relate and of which we should take note. These words now often hold mystery to us, because we have lost the meaning of them, as we have all too often lost the meaning of tradition. Myth, fable, tale, story - all these, and more, are used in the 'traditional' way to pass on hidden or esoteric knowledge from one generation to another. And this is a 'tradition' going back in time for thousands of years - the custom of the storyteller, whose job it was to keep alive the truths of the tribe. From medicine man and shaman to druid, Brahman and later Catholic priest, we have entrusted our social history and religious emotional beliefs to the wise-man of the tribe or culture. Held within the many myths, fables, tales and stories are a great many truths awaiting the key to unlock them again. And many of these truths are symbolic codes, hiding a secret belief that the contemporary religious authority would have looked down upon.

And I am of the opinion that with a new set of eyes we can ourselves find the keys to unlock these historical conundrums. We have to understand our ancestors were able to do this and we have to start by realising that they were humans just like us. They had fears, hopes and struggled to survive and to comprehend their very place in the universe. In the depth of understanding our ancestors discovered that they needed to find a way of passing on the knowledge they had uncovered and they formed tales. Our historical friends were not simple folk as we are led to believe. They had the same brain size as ourselves and in fact in many ways they were better attuned to the thing we now divisively call nature. You see, in our 'modern' materialistic state we forget that we are human beings that have come from and live in the natural universe. We forget, because we create things from within our own imaginations and surround ourselves with them, and hence we today find ourselves in an imaginary world of 'things.' This pc in front of me is formed from the imagination of thousands of individuals. In one respect it is not a natural item, but in another because it was formed from the mind of man then it is the result of that natural human factor - imagination. It is this ability of the mind to create a concept that has spawned stories and tales, myths and fables to explain to each new generation the knowledge of the last. And so what is the key we need to understand these concepts? It is imagination in tune with intuition or our connection to nature.

Tradition is a treasure chest of esoteric secrets awaiting the imagination of some bright spark to find the key and unlock it. If 'tradition' is that thing handed down from one generation to another, then it is our duty to find the key. And today that key lies in the quantum world. For within the all-too peculiar world of quantum physics what we shall discover is the connection through time of our own bloodline, our own thoughts and patterns, passing on through time and connected to the great matrix of the mind of the universe. The universe, according to Prof. James Gardner, is an intelligent mind at the sub-atomic level - at the quantum level. It acts like a DNA feedback loop, growing from input. As we share huge percentages of our DNA with our fellow animals and plants, so too we share a universal quantum connection - we are indeed entangled at the sub-atomic particle level to all reality - not just now, but for all time - and this quantum reality may very well be intelligent.

Tradition may very well have hidden this peculiar knowledge in symbolism and sacred texts and called it God. It is time to understand tradition afresh and to understand the sacred nature of humanity and consciousness.
