Atlantis, Egypt, and Ireland?

The Story of Princess Scota
By Heather Elizabeth Adams

In 1955, archaeologist Dr. Sean O'Riordan of Trinity College, Dublin, made an interesting discovery during an excavation of the Mound of Hostages at Tara, site of ancient kingship of Ireland. Bronze Age skeletal remains were found of what has been argued to be a young prince, still wearing a rare necklace of faience beads, made from a paste of minerals and plant extracts that had been fired. The skeleton was carbon dated to around 1350 BC. In 1956, J. F. Stone and L. C. Thomas reported that the faience beads were Egyptian: ?In fact, when they were compared with Egyptian faience beads, they were found to be not only of identical manufacture but also of matching design. The famous boy-king Tutankhamun was entombed around the same time as the Tara skeleton and the priceless golden collar around his mummy?s neck was inlayed with matching conical, blue-green faience beads?. An almost identical necklace was found in a Bronze Age burial mound at north Molton, Devon.
Lorraine Evans in her compelling book, Kingdom of the Ark, reveals archaeological connections between Egypt and Ireland. Evans argues that the connections between the two distant lands were plausible and there is archaeological evidence to support the theory. In 1937 in North Ferriby, Yorkshire, the remains of an ancient boat were discovered. While thought to be a Viking longship at first, continued excavation produced additional ships, wrecked in a storm. Further investigation showed that the boats were much older than Viking ships and were of a type found in the Mediterranean. It was concluded that these boats originated from 2000 years before the Viking age and were radiocarbon dated to around 1400 to 1350 BC. Evans then makes connections to argue that these boats could originate from Egypt, as the timeframe fits the dating of the faience beads. While investigating the origins of the people of Scotland in the Bower manuscript, the Scotichronicon, she discovers the story of Scota, the Egyptian princess and daughter of a pharaoh who fled from Egypt with her husband Gaythelos with a large following of people who arrive in a fleet of ships. They settled in Scotland for a while amongst the natives, until they were forced to leave and landed in Ireland, where they formed the Scotti, and their kings became the high kings of Ireland. In later centuries, they returned to Scotland, defeating the Picts, and giving Scotland its name.
Evans then posits the questions: Was the Tara necklace a gift from the Egyptians to a local chieftain after their arrival? Or was the Tara prince actually Egyptian himself? According to Bower?s manuscript, Scota?s descendants were the high kings of Ireland. In her quest to discover the true identity of ?Scota,? as it was not an Egyptian name, she finds within Bower?s manuscript that Scota?s father is actually named as being Achencres, a Greek version of an Egyptian name. In the work of Manetho, an Egyptian priest, Evans discovers the translation of the name?the pharaoh Achencres was none other than Akhenaten, who reigned in the correct timeframe of 1350 BC. Evans believes that Scota was Meritaten, eldest daughter of Akhenaten and Nefertiti. The third eldest daughter, Ankhesenpaaten, married her half-brother, King Tutankhamun, son of Akhenaten and his secondary wife, Kiya. The controversial religious shift to the god Aten caused conflict with the Amun priesthood, who reasserted their authority after Akhenaten?s reign ended and he disappeared from history. This conflict and the rumored deaths by plague would have been sufficient motivation for the pharaoh?s eldest daughter to accept a foreign prince in marriage, rather than being Tut?s wife as would have been normal protocol, and to flee from the conflicted country.
What happens to Scota and her people? For this, we must return again to the myths of the people inhabiting Ireland at the time, the Tuatha de Danaan, the magical children of the Goddess Danu: ?It was they who originally established the site of Tara, in the Boyne river valley, as the ritual inauguration and burial place of the ancient kings of Ireland. They were generally regarded as the gods and goddesses of the Celtic tribes, but it is believed that their true origins date far back into prehistory?. Could the de Danaan even perhaps have been the descendants of the lost land of Atlantis, migrants to Ireland after its final destruction, estimated by Edgar Cayce to have been around 10,000 BC? Cayce states in various psychic readings that the Atlanteans migrated to parts of the Yucatan and later into North America to merge with the existing native Mound Builders in the Ohio region. As Tara is also a sacred mound site, could there be a connection? It is an interesting speculation, and if the ?Sons of Mil? were indeed Egyptians, there is another connection to mound-building cultures, as sacred burial mounds were the origins for the pyramid structures that followed in the evolution of pyramid building in Egypt. Could there have been a common tie to these two cultures, united once more upon the Hill of Tara? Perhaps that, too, could explain part of the ancient symbolic meaning of the site, a place of sacred union of two cultures with a thread of common identity.
In the Annals of the Four Masters, dating to 1632-36, Scota?s husband is named Eremon, and it is Eremon and Eber who divide the land of Ireland between them, with Eremon in the north and Eber in the south. What is interesting to me about this version is the similarity between the division of Ireland and the division of Egypt itself. Egypt was divided into Upper and Lower Egypt, unified by a central connecting city, Memphis. If we consider the existing myths of Ireland?s legends, it, too, was divided to have a central site of unity, known as Mide, the omphalos of Ireland. Within Mide is where the Hill of Tara is situated, as a site of the High Kingship, representing the unity of the land and all of its people.
Sadly, it is in the battle for Ireland at Slieve Mish, as recorded in the Lebor Gabala, that Scota meets a tragic end and is killed. After her death in this battle, the war continued on at Tailtinn against the three kings of the Tuatha de Danaan, the husbands of the Goddesses Banba, Fodla, and Eriu: MacCuill, MacCeacht, and MacGreine. The sons of Mil, after prolonged battle, conquered the de Danaans and took the seat of Tara. According to the Bower manuscript, Scota was buried ?between Sliab Mis and the sea,? and her grave, Fert Scota, is found in a glen located in Glenscota.
The exact location of Scota?s resting place remains a mystery, much like the particulars of her past, which are slowing being unveiled. As with many myths, a real person lent her persona and identity to the landscape of the land she became a part of, giving Scotland her name, giving the Celts an additional layer to their unique heritage that is unsung and still somewhat new in theory, as the truths of history do their slow unraveling of their yarns.
I know from my own intuitive experiences that more of the story of Scota and the Egyptian connection to the Celts will indeed by revealed. On the Summer Solstice of 2006, I had this dream about Tara and its importance as a sacred site to the healing of our world, of finding unity amongst our current state of chaos:
?While excavating Tara, we are looking for evidence of kingship, an Egyptian connection. I am shown that there are two connections?a tree, as in the Tree of Life. Something else spirals with the tree to connect and to make a third way, a way between the worlds. I am told that as they dig that they will find things that may be in England, but that Ireland and the Hill of Tara will be riddled with pearls. Pearls of the sea show kingship, sovereignty, the true center of kingship, a center that rules over all. I am shown two snake-like DNA strands, winding together like vines, and these two twisted strands are connected to Tara. Pearls are the birthstone of the month of June, and the rose is also the flower of that month. The Rose of Tralee comes to mind and its connections to their beauty queen pageant?queenship, the rose. Tara as the site of Queenship, the beautiful center of the rose. I am told more about the beautiful pearls all over Tara, the pearls of the crown, of finding this lost race of kingship once more, which is NOT located in England, I am told. The Goddess stands on Tara, in the center, looking out over Ireland, Scotland, and England, showing me a trinity. She stands on Tara and under it, showing the way between of the above and below, the way between the trinity, with Her in the center, and that She, plus the Land, plus the People, equal the Sacred Three. She tells me that She is the Mother of the boy in my visions, the sacred son who will also be my son one day, and where to find him to bring him home. The Irish were a race of persecution, persecuted by the English, so I am told that history?s conquerors cannot be our future history?s leaders. Because of the past, no people will follow them. But this is not true of the Irish, for the true leaders of the People unite the three, She says, the People, Her, the Land. She leaves me with the suggestion that the Irish are a mix of three races, not just one of European descent, and this is also important to lead our way into our future to understand our Oneness and our equality, our harmony with the Land, with Her.?
After the dream ended, I thought about the meaning of the Celts, of the ideal of striving for unity, of Brehon laws, of equality. I realized that my own name is significant in this symbolism?my last name was originally Adam before my great-grandfather changed it, which means the red earth, the first people, all five races in one. And then I realized as well the connection of Tara. Backwards, Ta-ra becomes Ra-Ta, the priest from an Egyptian past-life of Edgar Cayce who assisted in building the pyramids. Then I took it a step further to remember that the names of the Egyptian creator god Ptah and of course the sun god Ra combined become Ptah-Ra. Was the name of Tara Herself, derived somehow from these Egyptian origins? The making of the sun king or Ra was derived from the power of Tea, the Goddess, in Her union with him. Of course, within Egyptian culture, it was Isis who held the sacred name of Ra, so it was she who held the secret power to create over all of the gods and goddesses of Egypt. And what of the sacred boy from my own visions, a boy of dark skin and dark hair? In one vision, he was walking upon a sacred mound, as if it were Brigid?s Mound in Glastonbury, but it was definitely Celtic. Was he the lost prince in the Mound of Hostages whom Evans identifies as Egyptian, capturing my attention many years ago to lead me upon this journey, of connecting the cultures of two very variant lands? Is he indeed the soul of my son yet to be born, a connection tied together in totality at last for myself in my own personal journey as well? The questions about Tara and her secrets continue, as my own quest to uncover more answers begins.

Global Warming Could Be Reversing A Trend That Led To Bigger Human Brains

Science Daily ? Early humans developed larger brains as they adapted to colder climates, according to University at Albany researchers.

The study, to be published by Jessica Ash, a graduate student in psychology, and professor of evolutionary psychology Gordon G. Gallup Jr. in the spring edition of Human Nature (Vol. 18, Issue 2, 2007: Transaction Publishers), suggests that human cranial capacity as an indicator of brain size grew dramatically during our evolution, and that variations in global temperature as well as progressive shifts toward global cooling account for as much as 50 percent of the variation in cranial capacity. The research utilized several measures of paleotemperatures and a sample of 109 fossilized hominid skulls collected over the past 2 million years.

In addition to the impact of global cooling, "By paying close attention to the geographic origin of each of the fossilized skulls," said Gallup, "it became clear that seasonal variation in climate may also have been an important selective force behind the evolution of human cranial capacity. Specifically, we found that as the distance from the equator increased, north or south, so did brain size."

The authors suggest that a key environmental trigger to the evolution of larger brains was the need to devise ways to keep warm and manage the fluctuations in food availability that resulted from cold weather.

In species other than humans, problems posed by cooler climates were solved by adaptations such as hibernation and migration, and by metabolic adaptations including fur and the development of fat deposits. During human evolution, however, the authors surmise that solutions to the problems of cold weather and a scarce food supply featured detailed and progressively more refined cognitive and intellectual strategies, such as the development of cooperative hunting techniques and more sophisticated tools and weapons. Increased brain capacity also brought with it the use of fire as a means to keep warm and cook, adaptations in clothing and shelter, and the development of more refined social skills.

Gallup and Ash suggest that while our understanding of brain evolution remains incomplete, the study provides evidence of the role of climate and migration away from the equator as selective forces in promoting human intelligence, and that the recent trend toward global warming may be reversing a trend that led to brain expansion in humans.

A New Book and Documentary Places the Shroud of Turin Back into the First Century AD

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
The new book and DVD, The Ark, The Shroud and Mary by best selling author Philip Gardiner places the Shroud back into the first century AD and explains how it was made. Using cutting edge science and the latest information on quantum physics, Gardiner explains how the individual whose image the Shroud represents was in an extreme state of euphoria brought on by intense beating and near death experience, which caused neutrons to escape atoms and hence causing neutron radiation burns on the linen. With the added implication of annointing fluid the radiation was magnified and affected the carbon dating of the 1980's.

But, that was not all. Gardiner wanted to know who the man was and, as he explains in the book, he ran into some remarkable new evidence in a secret meeting in Portugal with an ancient Brotherhood. This evidence points to the existence of the Knights Templar or warrior monks over 1000 years prior to the established beliefs and it was this dual Brotherhood - the warriors and the pure ones - who formed the biblical tales and recreated the Ark of God - the presence of the Divine - within the Shroud itself.

Gardiner's trail leads him through Egypt, Ethiopia, Jerusalem and even India as he works through the facts and fables of the Ark of the Covenant and the myths of Mary.

Establishing the date for the Shroud of Turin
Revealing how it was made
Uncovering the Ark of the Covenant today
Bringing an ancient Brotherhood into the spot light
Describing the ancient and sacred truths that spawned their existence

The Ark, The Shroud and Mary is a work of profound importance for people of all faiths or none and has already sparked a debate of intensity.

"I will never read the Bible or see the Shroud in the same way again - simply mind blowing." Rev. John Sinclair, Prague

"I was stunned that this writer can reveal these secrets and get them into the marktplace in the USA. Somebody is asleep at the switch of censorship and surely this magnum opus will not be overlooked for long. Once the word is out this book will be banned, burned, and/or buried in the vaults of the Vatican again! Read the most comprehensive manuscript on hidden knowledge since the Dead Sea Scrolls were released decades ago; yet sure to ignite a firestorm of controversy in orthodox circles, too, as well as a celebration of consciousness in unorthodox ones. This is such a marvelous time to be alive on planet earth when the truth is sweeping the lies clean as if it were a flood of biblical proportions!"

This Guy Deserves a Medal

House is an island

Developers have turned a house into an island in China after the owner refused to move out.

The villa now stands alone in a 30ft deep man-made pit in Chongqing city, reports Jinbao Daily.

The Chongqing Zhengsheng Real Estate Company wants to turn the area into a £40m 'Broadway' square, including apartments and a shopping mall.

But the owner of the villa says he won't move out unless the company pays his price - the equivalent of £1.3 million.

"The villa owner refuses to move, so the real-estate developer has had to dig out all around it to force him to," says a saleswoman at Weilian Real Estate Sales Company.

"He wants 20 million yuan, or he'll stay till the end of the world."

Unravelling the Ark, the Shroud and Mary

In the last few years I have researched and written on several ancient and not so ancient mysteries. I have delved into the black heart of Nazi secret societies and uncovered the existence of the present day Holy Vehm; I have sought out the secret of Solomon?s Temple and come away with sacred paths; I have even caused huge controversy in the realm of serpent lore. But, there were certain mysterious relics, existent and non-existent, that I had no intention of trying to disentangle and two of these were the Ark of the Covenant and the Shroud of Turin. Fate however often has a peculiar habit of dealing out joker cards and I pulled out a whole pack of them.

It all started in Winchester, England. I was there to give a speech. Having stayed the night before in a hotel, I awoke early and decided to take a walk around the wonderful cathedral to kill time.

I took with me my new digital camera in the hope that I might get some shots for a DVD I was working on at the time called Gnosis: The Secret of Solomon?s Temple Revealed released by Reality Entertainment. Walking around like a zombie tourist with my eyes peeled for images of the Temple, Solomon, Sheba and all-manner of esoteric devices I eventually arrived at a beautiful image of Prudence holding aloft a serpent and with two faces, one of a man and one of a woman. It was the beauty of Oneness, of the dual nature in man united by the power or energy of the inner serpent - a concept widely spoken of in literature and on the internet. This was something Gnostics and mystics have spoken of for hundreds of years. I took a few photographs and then noticed something else. To the left on the same mausoleum was a beautiful image of Moses and the Jews carrying the Ark of the Covenant across and before the Great Pyramid in Egypt. It was a wonderful picture and something inside told me that there was a secret being told, especially as this was part of the same creative work of art as the Prudence statuette. And so I walked around the whole thing and on the other side discovered another carving, this time of Jesus emerging from the tomb with his Shroud about him. At that moment all the research I had done on the ancient mysteries came together in one blinding flash of inspiration and I suddenly realised the truth of the Ark. It struck me there and then that the whole design was an esoteric work of art, revealing the Ark of the Old Testament and the one of the new. In the following months I gathered around me all the books and sources available on the Ark, the Shroud and the sacred feminine principle of Mary.

You see the Ark itself I found was derived from a much older tradition, stretching right back into Egypt and beyond and the reason for this was because it was a natural part of man himself. Solar b?arques or Arks would daily travel through the Otherworld carrying the deity and bringing him back for new life the following day. It was a re-creative process of the sun, and internally of our very selves, as we too disappear mentally in the darkness of sleep. The sun of God would travel into darkness and re-emerge with new life each day. In the same way God himself was encased in the Ark of the Covenant and would be seen as the shining light of the sun. In the same way God as Jesus was placed in the Otherworld or Underworld tomb within the Shroud, which then carried his image, placed there by light. And Mary too, was the one who would carry the divine within her womb, to bring forth the light once again.

All of this esoteric language was united in symbolism, but I wanted more. I knew that man in his various ways had always manifested the inner world in art, architecture, music and texts and so I wanted to know; had man manifested these symbolic objects such as the Ark or Shroud physically?

My research lead me through a world that many before had travelled and yet I discovered that there had been such a lot of information missed, because the links had not been understood properly. There is simply not enough space in one article to reveal all the discoveries and so I will choose one element ? the Shroud.

Ever since the carbon dating of the infamous Shroud of Turin in the 1980?s, which placed the linen cloth in the 13th/14th centuries, many had presumed that was the end of the tale. Others had stated that the image was that of Leonardo da Vinci or even that of the Grand Master of the Knights Templar. However, the evidence I discovered would throw this dating out of the window and bring it back again into the 1st century AD. It appears that following the carbon dating, many researchers had shown how the scientists themselves had not been telling the whole truth and had in fact known which of the various test linens was from the Shroud. This itself discredits the tests in many ways. However, the Shroud of Turin Research Project found that the image was in fact not made up of any physical substance such as paint or pigment. It was in fact an alteration of the surface of the linen by some effect of light or radiation, something which also makes linen turn yellow.

In a letter to the editor of Nature magazine on 16th February 1989 Dr. Thomas J. Phillips of Harvard University posited the following explanation that the body of the man in the Shroud:

"?may have radiated neutrons, which would have irradiated the Shroud and changed some of the nuclei to different isotopes by neutron capture."

In fact, what I discovered was that an altered state of consciousness brought on by beating or other forms of physical extreme could also excite the atoms within the body, stimulating heat generation. This process I discovered also aids the escape of neutrons from the atom, thus causing neutron radiation as proposed by Dr. Phillips. Add into this the embalming fluids used on the body and a process of magnification aided in the creation of the almost photographic image on the Shroud itself.

This neutron radiation would in fact have ruined any possible chance of dating the Shroud correctly and now places it back again in the 1st century as I reveal in the book.

I was now coming to some peculiar conclusions. Could it be, I wondered, that the image on the Shroud was that of an adept who had been in a state of ecstasy and who had emitted radiation?

The man in the Shroud had been beaten to a pulp, nailed to a cross and was surely near death.

There is little wonder that the Ark, the Shroud and indeed even the God-bearer herself ? Mary ? were all depicted in art as emitting light ? for they all carried the symbol of the sun - the light. They were all esoteric devices of a truly human experience that has been misinterpreted for hundreds of years because of our own perceptions. Linked with the life giving rays of our own solar power the union of these devices is one of the most profound stories on planet earth and it is the subject of the journey to discover them that is in the forthcoming Book and DVD The Ark, The Shroud and Mary.

Note
None of the research carried out for this book would have been possible without the great works of many authors, past and present. There is not a book written, nor a theory come to that does not owe thanks to those who went before - whether a friend in the pub who passes on shamanic words of wisdom, a previous co-author, a book you once read, a film, a club, a church visited or even some subliminal memory of something or somebody forgotten. I have been able to personally thank most of them, but for those I cannot get to or who died out many years ago then I offer my thanks now. The people who helped with this book are credited in the book, and below:

My good friend Crichton Miller, Graham Phillips, Graham Hancock, Stuart Munro-Hay, the modern mystic and writer Gary Osborn who virtually re-wrote The Shining Ones last year into a modern mystics classic, Gopi Krishna, Ian Wilson, Warren Croyle, Eliphas Levi, Paracelsus, Hugh Schonfield, David Rohl, Alan Alford, Dr John Jay Harper, my great Sufi friend who is both the most marvellous man and incredible mind I have ever come across and many more. If I have missed anybody, please let me know immediately, never done intentionally.

The DVD is released by Reality Films, part of Reality Entertainment and along with the book will be available across the internet stores and distributed throughout Barnes and Noble with front of store placement.

The DVD is available here or call 866 585 1355 toll free or email books@reality-entertainment.com

Here's a couple of reviews:
Last I knew, the Ark was in Ethiopia where Graham Hancock had tracked it down to. Man was I wrong. This DVD (and the book) completely blew all that away and so much more. In fact, it really did make the other theories look almost mad. Gardiner has a way of making things that are incredibly profound appear so logical - because they are. The truth of all this has almost been right in front of our eyes and yet we all missed it. Brilliant DVD that I could watch again and again - come to think of it, I will right now.
Robert Kintrade, Edinburgh, 32rd degree

Just when you think that Gardiner couldn't come up with anymore secrets he does it again with this beautiful DVD. Not only is it profoundly insightful and full of revelations that made me personally sit bolt upright, but it is also full of fantastic music and incredible imagery. Once again we follow Gardiner on his global treck as he traverse Egypt, Ethiopia, India and
Europe to evaporate one theory after another and bring to us some remarkable and brand new insights. I will never read the Bible or see the Shroud in the same way again - simply mind blowing.

Help Tarawatch

TaraWatch http://www.tarawatch has opened a PayPal account for the sole purpose of raising money to pay for an archaeological consultancy company to assess the 38 sites being excavated between Navan and Dunshaughlin and generate a report. The report wil be used for complaints to the European Union, World Monuments Fund, Forestry Service of Ireland (Coillte) and other bodies.

This is an emergency situation, and time is of the essence. Please make a one time donation, of an amount of your choosing. If you do not have a PayPal account you can still use a credit or debit card. Please pass the word, as this is our last realistic hope for saving Tara from the M3 motorway.

We will contract with a company abroad like Oxford Archaeology to do the work, as it is common knowledge that Irish-based firms will not do it, because of their dependence on the National Roads Authority for contracts. Oxford did the Kampsax Report on Carrickmines Castle and the M50 for the EU, which was a daming review of what happened there.

We thank you so much for your support!

'M3 PPP Contract is a Reckless Act of Public Spending by NRA

TaraWatch, having received news that the National Roads Authority (NRA) signed the Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract for the M3 toll road with SIAC Ferrovial (trading as Eurolink Consortium) makes the following statement:

"Today will go down as one of the lowpoints in the long history and development of the Irish nation. Despite a Red C opinion poll in 2005 that two thirds of Irish people oppose the route of the M3 motorway through the heart of Ireland's most historic and treasured landscapes, the Hill of Tara, the Government yesterday signed the PPP contract for the M3 motorway.

Signing the contract to design, build, finance and operate a toll road through Tara is a reckless act of public spending, given the importance of Tara landscape, the the less environmentally damaging options available and the new EU restrictions on carbon emissions

Minister Dick Roche misled the public when he said yesterday that
"there are no outstanding issues of archaeology" . TaraWatch
understands that the Minister recently received solicitors' letters
from a third party, alleging cointinuing breaches of the National
Monuments Acts, and threatening legal action.

Archaeological excavations continue on the route, and there is clear evidence that the M3 has impacted the national monument of Rath Lugh, which is beyond the scope of the Minister's Directions. There is also evidence that new national monuments have been discovered, particularly the souterrain complex at Roestown, just north of Dunshaughlin. Under the National Monuments Act, all work in these areas should cease, and an assessment should be carried out.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and advance complaints to the following bodies:

- EU. A complaint is being prepared that not only the M3, but the
entire roads programme in the National Development Plan 2007-2013 is in breach of EU law because of lack public and expert consultation, failure to disclose the basis for the cost/benefit analysis, and likely detrimental effects on the Irish environment as well as the environment of other EU members, particularly in terms of carbon emissions.

- World Monuments Fund, New York. The Hill of Tara was nominated to World Monuments Fund - 100 Most Endangered Sites List in January 2007.
The nomination was endorsed by Dr Ron Hicks of Ball State University in Indiana, and supported by a statement signed by hundreds of academics worldwide.

- Coillte. A preliminary complaint was made to Coillte in January 2007, and is being followed up with a more comprehensive complaint regarding damage to the national monument at Rath Lugh, which is in Coillte care.
The complaint alleges that Coillte failed in their duty to protect the
national monument in their care, by not attending the public
consultation for the M3 and allowing part of the national monument to be CPOed and damaged by Meath County Council.

TaraWatch is requesting a copy of the PPP contract from the NRA, and will be reviewing it to determine if it is in compliance with EU
tendering rules. We also wish to know if it is a 'fixed price contract' and want to know why the contract price has increased from 600 to 900 million euros since the project was first proposed.

TaraWatch will also continue to hold public events, the first being
Saint Patrick's Day Poetry on Tara on March 17th, beginning at 5.00pm.

Vincent.

Today's Serpent Section

Today's serpent section comes from a Hindu website regarding the Naga's

Naga worship: Naga Chauthi or Naga Panchami

On the fifth day of the bright half of Shravan month of Hindu calendar, people worship the snake or nag. The day is known as Nag Panchami. Nag Panchami has a special significance and is celebrated by the devotees with lot of faith, fear and devotion. It is firmly believed that the serpent lord associated with Lord Subrmanya who will be pleased by this worship will mitigate their sufferings and bring happiness. On this day, people visit temples specially dedicated to snakes and worship them.

Nag Panchami is observed in different ways in different parts of India and it is an important all India festival. In Bengal and parts of Assam and Orissa the blessings of Mansa, the queen of serpents are sought by worshipping her in all the religious adoration. In Punjab Nag Panchami is known by the name of "Guga-Navami". A huge snake is shaped from dough, which is kneaded from the contribution of flour and butter from every household. The dough-snake is then placed on a basket and taken round the village in a colorful procession in which women and children sing and dance and onlookers shower flowers. When the procession reaches the main square of the village all the religious rites are performed to invoke the blessings of the snake god and then the dough snake is ceremoniously buried. In Nepal also, Nag Panchami is celebrated by worshipping the Karkotag, Vasuki and Sesh Nag. This is one of the ancient Hindu festivals and has a mention in Hindu Puranas.

In Jainism and Buddhism snake is regarded as sacred having divine qualities. It is believed that a cobra snake saved the life of Buddha and another protected the Jain Muni Parshwanath. Today as an evidence of this belief, we find a huge serpent carved above the head of the statue of Muni Parshwanath.

In South India, the serpent is given a pride of place and you will find Naga idols installed in almost all temples and even on roadside platforms. It is believed that any harm done to snakes create miseries and sufferings. Serpent worship is very widely followed. The major Hindu gods, Lord Shiva has serpent as an ornament round his neck and Lord Vishnu has serpent Adhisesha as his bed and he is called Seshashayana (person sleeping on snake)

Campaigners turn up heat over Tara road

Opposition to proposed motorway along historical site continues
by David Lynch
See http://tarawatch.org/
Campaigners opposed to a new motorway route via the Tara Valley, have shelved plans to form a new political party. TaraWatch has told Daily Ireland it wants opposition parties to ?come out clearly against the road?. ?

We are particularly happy with the clear stance taken by the Green Party and Sinn Féin against the road,? said TaraWatch spokeswoman Siobhán Rice. ?However, we also want clear statements from Labour and Fine Gael. ?

We are a bit worried about where Labour have been standing on the issue lately. ?We have been worried that they are sitting on the fence.? However, TaraWatch welcomed news that Labour MEP Proinsias De Rossa is to meet the European Union petitions committee and that ?Tara and the M3 motorway is on the agenda?.

?We want all opposition parties to come together and make Tara a real election issue. You do not really get much bigger issues than this. ?Tara has been compared to the Valley of the Kings in Egypt and other such sites. ?This is something that everyone who cares about our heritage should be worried about,? Ms Rice said. She also called for ?independent archaeologists? to be brought onto the route of the proposed motorway.

TaraWatch is campaigning to ?save the Tara archeological complex?. The group wants changes to the planned route for the M3 motorway that will connect Cavan and Dublin. At a protest outside Leinster House last week, the leading TaraWatch member Vincent Salafia mooted the idea of forming a new party. He said TaraWatch was considering doing this if the mainstream parties did not make Tara an election issue.

TaraWatch said yesterday that the ?strong showing of support from the Green Party, Sinn Féin and the Labour Party, as well as independent Oireachtas members, partly as a result of the protest, has negated the need for such a move?.

Ms Rice said, ?We are delighted to see this clear showing of support and look forward to engaging in meaningful, constructive discussions with opposition parties, including Fine Gael, over the summer. ?We hope to find a solution that can best protect our heritage and deliver badly needed relief for the commuters of Meath.

?Mr Salafia has indicated that he may be willing to withdraw his Supreme Court appeal if the matter is handed over to consultants for an independent third-party assessment, which could be performed in a few short months.

New Page for Ordering books and DVD's

There's a new page at www.gardinersworld.com for ordering books and DVD's that one of the guys has set up. The books will be signed too! I know, I know, even my own mother wouldn't bother.... here's the link

Latest news is that this week we are in talks with a major television company regarding a top secret discovery that I promise to announce here the moment I am allowed. So keep checking back. It's very exciting stuff and has nothing to do with Grails, Arks, or even snakes!

Also, I am pleased to see that the Book of Thoth have come up with the winners of the book competition and that now a massive 50 people are going to be included and get prizes. Just brilliant and I have seen the wonderful messages sent to Thoth thanking him and everybody for the idea. I think, as long as everybody gets behind this kind of thing it could easily be an annual event and really help people get into the publishing world with their entry on their CV! Great opportunity and well done the winners - I know they had loads and loads.

The Real Jesus Secret Cameron Doesn't Know

James Cameron recently shocked the world with his claim to have found the tomb of Jesus and Mary. Across the world archaeologists came out against his claims and bloodline conspiracy theorists jumped for joy. But the real secret has been hidden and remained a closely guarded sacred truth and now Philip Gardiner is about to reveal the story in The Ark, The Shroud and Mary.

This month will see the launch of one of the most amazing tales ever to be told. The Ark, The Shroud and Mary - a book and DVD - will reveal for the first time who the man was imaged on the Shroud of Turin, what relevance this has to the Ark of the Covenant and the ramifications for Christianity are immense.

In addition, Gardiner will reveal through scientific evidence just how the Shroud was made and re-date it in the process.

But the story goes much deeper, for during Gardiner's extraordinary investigations he uncovers and meets up with an ancient Brotherhood who have guarded the secret for centuries and who claim cross-religious links that unite the strands of our sacred past like never before.

This book and DVD reveals the golden thread throughout time and across nations and creeds that Jesus and his contemporaries were fully part of.

The DVD is released by Reality Films, part of Reality Entertainment and along with the book will be available across the internet stores and distributed throughout Barnes and Noble with front of store placement.

The book is available here and the DVD here or call 866 585 1355 toll free or email books@reality-entertainment.com

Here's a few reviews:
Last I knew, the Ark was in Ethiopia where Graham Hancock had tracked it
down to. Man was I wrong. This DVD (and the book) completely blew all that
away and so much more. In fact, it really did make the other theories look
almost mad. Gardiner has a way of making things that are incredibly profound
appear so logical - because they are. The truth of all this has almost been
right in front of our eyes and yet we all missed it. Brilliant DVD that I
could watch again and again - come to think of it, I will right now.
Robert Kintrade, Edinburgh, 32rd degree

Just when you think that Gardiner couldn't come up with anymore secrets he
does it again with this beautiful DVD. Not only is it profoundly insightful
and full of revelations that made me personally sit bolt upright, but it is
also full of fantastic music and incredible imagery. Once again we follow
Gardiner on his global treck as he traverse Egypt, Ethiopia, India and
Europe to evaporate one theory after another and bring to us some remarkable
and brand new insights. I will never read the Bible or see the Shroud in the
same way again - simply mind blowing.

The Ark, The Shroud and Mary book now available from amazon before the launch

The new book is already available on the amazon UK and amazon USA websites before the official launch date and has already garnered support in the reviews! Amazing.

UK amazon link

USA amazon link

Snippets of the reviews:
"Anybody who loves bloodline theories, intrigue and sacred secrets will be in awe at the simple truths in this book that have passed everybody by. His discoveries are tremendous and if you don't get a few shocks reading this excellent book then you have missed something IMO. Well researched, beautifully written and exhilerating. I'm gonna buy the DVD now!"

Well, the dvd will be available soon too. Here's the Barnes and Noble store link

But here's some brilliant news that I am so excited about. Barnes and Noble, the biggest book chain in the United States (I am told with 500 stores) is taking the Book and DVD in front of store with special point of sales - this means it will be placed very prominently in store, something that only normally happens with fiction titles. I am in all humility very very pleased, to have not just the book, but the DVD as well placed in the book store with such promotion. Such a lot of work goes into these things but I never expected that. Thanks to all those involved, especially Warren at Reality and New Page.

Archaeologists, scholars dispute Jesus documentary

JERUSALEM (AP) -- Filmmakers and researchers on Monday unveiled two ancient stone boxes they said may have once contained the remains of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, but several scholars derided the claims made in a new documentary as unfounded and contradictory to basic Christian beliefs.

No surprise there then. For rest of the story see here

Serpent Worship Alive and Well?

Here's todays serpent worship snippet. The worship of the serpent is still alive and well it seems on our trawl through the world of the internet. And this one even has a "nude writing" ritual - sounds interesting, that's bound to get some members! There's little wonder this site seems to suffer from sex spammers!

"Welcome to the Cult of the Great Serpent. I'm Rosey, the High Priestess. This web site is the home of the worshippers of the Serpent and is the primary site for recruitment information. Come on in. Relax. Take a rodent for your snake companion and then help yourself to some brownies and tea." Check out the site here
