initial magnitude was 8.2, if revised to 8+ this would be great quake #4 for this year. average is 1 M8-9 per year. i would expect 1 9+ in the next 12 months, based on historical data (they tend to cluster 3-5 over about a 5 year period, then nothing for 20+ years)
