The Holy Tarot are not just tools, dead paper.
They are our connection, through symbolism to the aether. To which is where all the laws of Mysticism have been recorded and this information past, present and future is channeled through the Dead (Necromancy) and delivered to us.

I also have a Necronomicon deck. The Donald Tyson one, in case there are others. I mostly like to just look at the paintings, as they are very surreal. I suppose I could use them to help conduit some energy from that great hulking Necronomicon thoughtform. Lots energy there. I'm also of a mind to try a conversation with Cthulu himself, thought I've heard he can be quite raving at times. Well, cheerio, no lunatic can match the dry logic of a Brit! Not that I am one. I happen to be a New England Viking. Still, there's never been anything too maniacal for me to handle, I am a crazy Viking. If Odin can hang on a tree for 9 days just to learn his ABC's I can do well for a talk with a lunatic Satan.

Perhaps you would like to introduce yourself in the Welcome Forum Kalidas..
As for this statement...

Just a gentle reminder that apparent sarcasm/arrogance does not go down very well here..
Thankyou...Momma..

Thank you Neb. Uhh... Do you need any good luck charms? I had some rabbit feet left over after I made the bunny hat.

That pic is me newby.
I am so bad with the tarot. Honestly, I wish I could get it.
All the sudden, I am locked. Its not for me I think, but I so hoped, at one point, it would be.

When I first started studying Tarot in the mid '70's, I was using the Waite deck, basically because it was one of the few available.
Wasn't long however before I became aware of Crowley's Thoth deck, which I found to be invaluable. I've been using this deck almost exclusively ever since. (I gave the Waite deck to a friend.)
About 12 months ago I got onto a copy of the Hermetic Deck by Godfrey Howson, which is more concerned with Golden Dawn symbolism. I find that while this is a generally good deck, it's spoiled somewhat by the fact that it has been printed in black and white and consequently lacks some of the "psychic punch" of other decks. A very good deck, all the same.
For my birthday some months ago, I was pleasantly surprised when 2 friends gave me a further 2 decks.
Quantum Tarot - a Tarot of New Physics, by Kay Stopforth and Chris Butler which is a truly beautiful deck that attempts to combine ancient Tarot with the symbolism and theory of quantum physics. A very good job it does, too.
Also got the Necronomicon Tarot by Donald Tyson, which interprets the tarot according to the fiction of HP Lovecraft, whose stories I'm a great admirer of. Whilst Tyson has done a very clever job of mating the two separate strands, I'm not convinced that the resulting marriage has really added anything to the body of Tarot lore. A nice deck to look at though and quite interesting for fans of Lovecraftian fiction.
I should stress however that I don't use the tarot as a tool for divination but rather as a means of meditation and practical magical working.

lovely to hear that you made your own deck. I've started my own from the images in my meditations and from chats with my Guide. I now have one painted and several drawn, but I am having difficutly in producing what's in my mind onto the card with saticefactory results... or I may be being just too fussy!
I also have The Gilded Tarot from which I'm learning and two Angel decks.
