Enaid, this is the first stumbling block for most that wish to have telepathic contact (or channel as many like to call it).
As I was reading this I got a nudge that there is something I can help you with. I checked in on Max and it seems he wants you to talk to him. Seems he has been trying to initiate dialogue with you for a little while now. So, to this end I would like to offer you some thoughts. I offer them in love, you may use them or not as you see fit.

When engaging in telepathic contact the first challenge is often that we desire too much to hear. We "try" too hard. Receiving telepathic contact is about "being" not "doing". It is NOT about a still mind, it is about a relaxed mind. A still mind is silent... nothing comes in. A relaxed mind is available to thoughts.
May I humbly suggest to you that you create a little ritual which would put you in a position to "receive" from Max. The first thing is to completely relax the body. Go for a short walk, then have a warm bath. Then sit or lie somewhere very comfortable. Maybe light a candle or some incense if you are so inclined. Then consciously relax your whole body. Say to yourself in your mind "relax the toes, the ankles, the calves... feel the tension flowing out of the lower parts of the legs..." and so on until you have relaxed all the way up to the scalp. Then just lie there for a while. concentrate on your breathing. Be aware of each breath. Just focus your attention there. If thoughts arrive in your head release them like ripples on a pond... ripple them away. Just breathe. When you feel like your body is starting to drift then say in your mind:
"Max, I invite your presence. Please come be with me so that I may feel you near." Then be open to a shift in physical sensations, however subtle. Just feel his presence for a while. Then say "Max I wish to converse with you. Hello Max"
Now HERE is the trick. If you don't get a reply, create one. I know this sounds like cheap trickery but at this point all you want to do is relax your mind to enable communication. So create in your mind the beginnings of a reply. Maybe Max would say "hello my beloved one". Now you have opened yourself to communication. At first you will doubt. You will think this is not Max but just you playing both parts of the conversation. This is okay. Allow that you are teaching yourself a new skill. It takes time to get proficient. Have the conversation. Then each day you can keep coming back to Max. Ask him stuff that you'd like to know about. See what he has to say. Over time you will come to find surety and release your doubts. You will get info from Max that you could not have created in your head. You will come to know. In the mean time... allow the doubt to be.

What I'd like to say to you is that things are never as simple as they appear to us to be. Max was embodied as your dog but the spirit that enlivened that dog body was something quite different. Not your usual dog at all.
Mitz has it quite right: NOT you ordinary animal spirit. I feel that your spirit essence is paired in a very special relationship with the spirit essence of another. This "other" is your spirit-partner, your companion, your complement. A love that has stretched beyond the bounds of space and time exists between you and your partner. It seems to me that you are here on Planet Earth at this time for some particular purpose. You are a wanderer, not a long-time earth dweller. So you come here and you incarnate so that you may begin to fulfil your purpose here. Max stays "unincarnated" where he is your guardian. Your helper and protector as you travel this difficult world. He seems to have wanted to find a way to remind you of his existence so a fragment of his consciousness partnered with the "spirit of dog" to manifest Max. Mission accomplished, you FELT that love. You remembered. I think it is time to awaken a little more and to go talk to Max.

But I may be all wrong and way off base. If any of this rings true for you then I am pleased. If not then I'm okay with that too. I am quite prepared to be wrong.

And now I shall un-hijack Annu's thread and watch from the side-lines again!

Thank you very much for all the guidance. I WILL be applying it - as I try to meditate daily already. I guess I just never associated Max with being a guide. Time to shift the thinking a little is all. I consider myself very intuitive. Always considered those messages as coming from a guide as they are always spot on. I read your threads with interest, and you have lead me to try communicating with my cat(s). It works sometimes, even. LOL. My husband of course makes fun of me, but I just smile because I know that Macy can tell what I am thinking at her.

The problem is, I cannot always (usually) tell what she and Samson are trying to say to me. Would you mind checking in with them and finding out what's going on? Especially about peeing on the couch -- it's happened twice now, and I am afraid if it happens again -- the kitties will have to go and live somewhere else. And that would make all of us sad... but we just can't have them peeing on the furniture.

Its funny you mentioned this. On another forum I had mentioned there was something/one in my basement. I can sense that I am being watched sometimes. I had mentioned that it didn't feel bad or negative, but at certain times I could feel a presence, exactly where Coal would be staring into. I had done a smudging of the house when we got it because the people that owned the house before us were getting divorced and I wanted to get rid of residual negative energy, but I don't think I had done a really good job of the basement.

I wasn't sure if it was a family member or guide visiting me or not, and because it doesn't feel negative, I didn't want it to send it away. I've never met my guide before and if my dad wants to visit me, I'm fine with that. But if you have a feeling its just a stalled energy, I'll do a smudging of the basement and light a white and pink candle to fill the space with love and light. If you get more insight on who it is and why they are with me please let me know.

When you have time, would you please talk to our Chihuahua Duke? He & one of our cats, Blossom, are constantly fighting. He'll go out of his way to chase her, biting her on the rump, & causing her to claw at him. They're both jealous of each other, getting attention & lap time. If they'd just chill, they both could share my lap, but the way they fight it won't happen. Just please let them know that they're causing alot of tension to the house, & please just chill.

Boy do I relate with the husband making fun! What is up with that? I think they are just afraid that is actually true...then they are jealous we are doing it and not them! Perhaps they think we will be able to "read" them and all private thoughts will be lost!? Something silly like that...not sure, but lately I don't give a flipping hoot what anyone thinks. I do this, I have been for...well forever...and I will continue to do this because it brings me and others joy, understanding and healing! And that is that.

SO, don't let anyone get you down with this and do what brings you joy. I am very very happy that these threads have brought you to communicate more deeply with your animal friends. That's what this is all about!

I have had a little talk with Macy and Samson. I asked about the couch peeing episodes and I saw frustration and anger at being prevented from doing something they want to do. I THINK it has to do with the outdoors. They want to spend time outside, but for whatever reason they don't or cannot. Samson especialy showed me eating grass. I think he wants to eat grass! IF that is the case then maybe a little pot of cat grass would make him happy? I tried to explain the various reasons why it could be dangerous to be outside. IE: Cars, dogs, unloved angry people, laws, etc.

Also seems that there has been some changes of late in the household...has there been a new person around? Hmmm...not sure about this, but almost like there is an element of fear in them that is new, OF something new. Sorry to be cryptic!

I have told them that it is unhealthy for them as well as the humans in the house to share furniture with urine. So to find another way to get attention! I asked them to please use their litter box, as continued peeing on the furniture would garner them a whole new place of residence and the people would be all new and maybe not as loving as you! So hopefully they get the message and stop that. :-)

Glad that was helpful. I really don't know who it is. But I don't think it is a family member. Generally if that is the case you just KNOW that it is and they attempt contact with you. Our spirit guides do not do things like this either. They come gently and make themselves known to you in peaceful loving ways. Usually during meditation or if you have directly asked for them to be present. So I just don't get the feeling that this is an energy that is supposed to be there. BUT because everything is always perfectly as it should be, the reason could be so that the two of you have a learning experience from this. You help the spirit on it's way to the light, and the spirit learns that physical people show great love, compassion and affection to those on the other side easily. Perhaps this spirit's Karmic emotional attachment to this plane has kept it here...and all it needs is a loving nudge to go home? Don't know...

I think a smudge of your basement would be a great idea. Then you can just say something like "dear spirit, look towards the light, release this physical place and go home. The angels are waiting to help you home" or something like this. I am sure the words you need will come to you in perfect time.

WHen I asked Wally if he has come back as Jada I got the answer "not exactly". So it seems this isn't cut and dry! After some more clear questioning, he tells me he has taken on the role as Jada's companion in spirit, which in turn means YOUR companion in spirit. So really that means you now have two beautiful dogs with you, one physically present and one spiritually. You sense Wally because he has decided to remain near this plane of existence with you and Jada. The reasoning is not clear to me...but it SEEMS as though you may have asked for him to be with you? And Jada saw how much you love him and also asked for him to be present. Something like this. I don't see him as being a spirit guide or anything like that, he has no "job" inherent in being with you both, but it seems he is just there to love and support you both emotionally....with oodles of Love!

Hi Silver...BTW, I would NOT call you the "resident idiot" more like "resident peace-lover and bringer of compassionate friendship" but I guess that doesn't fit into that teensy box.

Wow, Duke and Blossom do have quite a bit of animosity towards each other. I have really tried my best to explain how this is not serving either of them. I have shown them how wonderful it would be to share your laps, how they could be cuddling with each other, protecting and loving each other as brother and sister in your household. How this behaviour could mean that one or the other would have to go and how much worse this would be then sharing the humans in love! I really hope this gets through to them.

Something you could try (and I have warned them that you would perhaps try this) is picking them both up together while in your mind singing a tune, like Mary had a little lamb or something easy to sing in your mind while doing this. The reason for this is that I find if you have even a smidgen of fear in your mind of them fighting or having issue they will most CERTAINLY have issue from the mental images you are projecting. SO singing a little diddly tune in your head keeps those thoughts entirely out and means your mind is busy doing other things rather then thinking negatively. Visualise them loving each other, visualize them cuddling and sharing your lap. THEN bring them together on your lap while petting them both profusely. Feel very calm, loving and peaceful and sing that song in your mind and I have little doubt that they will respond well to this. It might help to do a play by play in your head just prior to the action. Meaning visualize it through to the end of a peaceful happy cohabitation on your lap FIRST, THEN actually do it in real life after. You can say lots of praiseful things, like "I love you both SO much, and we need to all get along and be friends, love each other" and on and on with positive calm and loving words. That will help too.

Give that a go then let me know how it works!

NO, not one bit does your Rystlin-kitti hate you! He DOES miss you terribly, but he knows you will be reunited. He loves you tremendously. He has had some fears that you would decide not to bring him at all. But, he knows that either way everything will be okay. He really hopes you find a place so he can be with you again, but will understand if you can't. He will love you regardless! I have told him you love him very much and miss him and he says "I know".

So no worries okay? Your Kitti loves you and that will not change no matter what happens in your life.

I smudged the house and basement (really well) and told the energy to go into the light and return home to be at rest. I haven't noticed it since, but it wasn't a constant presence so time will tell. Hopefully its at peace.

The colour orange is prominent...again, I don't see why but it's ..well, prominent is the word. He is certainly loved I can tell he is well adjusted...just very hyper! He is FULL of love and happiness, lots of joy in this animal. I don't pick up even a smidgen of anger or fear in him he is just happy-go-lucky whatever happens happens, go with the flow kind of dude. Also, very eager to please his humans.

Hiya back Annu!

Thank you for the reading. Jake really isn't a hyper dog, but he may have been in a playful mood at the time of your reading. He CAN be so much fun and thinks he's one of the kids (human brother) when HE decides he wants to play. Other than that he sleeps most of the night & day away He's pretty calm & likes to cuddle most of the time.

In regards to the car ride, he was probably thinking back to our ski trip to the mountains 2 weeks ago. He doesn't like being in a vehicle and usually gets car sick, but this time he was fine and was just happy to be with the family instead of being cooped up in the kennel. (I'll never do that again! ) I'm not sure about the color orange, but I will do some investigating (it may be his red blanket that he sleeps on...).

Well, you ARE spot on about him being VERY loved, and to me he is my baby boy, and he couldn't be more spoiled! Well, I'm glad that he is well adjusted, it only took him about 7 years to finally get used to the way things are run around here...we all have to work right? But I try to be home every couple of hours to let him out, otherwise he will mark my fake plant , maybe do to separation anxiety.

Dear friends,

I've decided to lock this thread and take a bit of a break from the animal readings for awhile. I would like to enjoy the site and post on other threads and such and I find that I don't have enough time for that when I have animal readings to do. AND if I have animal readings to do, and I am not in the proper frame of mind, then I tend to avoid coming here as I don't want to post elsewhere and have people think I am snubbing the readings....when it is simply that I don't think I should be doing them for whatever reason.

BUT this does not mean I will not still do readings if someone needs me to. If anyone really needs me to communicate with their animals I will do my best and you can either start a new thread to alert me or send me a pm.

I want to thank you all for allowing me this opportunity to test animal telepathy with you. It's been a lot of fun and such a learning and growing experience for me. I've enjoyed it immensely these past 3 years! I've come such a long way in my personal growth through this website and have enjoyed giving back where I can to all the great members and people I've met here who I am proud to call friends.
