So call me a Pothead. I can see to write this. I am still alive in every sense of the word.Perhaps a few of us think a bad smell is worth putting up with!. I am sure I am putting up with one right now.
I personally like the smell.

Thelma, I hope the Maryjane is helping your diabetes symptoms.
The only thing I ever heard about pot was that it stunted your growth (young folks).... but it's sounding more and more like a miracle cure for many.
I like the smell of cauliflower, broccolli and cabbage cooking too....
..... and captain black tobacco, cigars........ funny how smells remind you of a place or person.

personally, i dont find a problem with it.
I have smoked it on and off for years, i dont have a mental problem or anything, i think
I am petrified of the dentist and the local anaesetic they give you doesnt seem to work on me??? So if i smoke that before i go i'm more relaxed and therefor it doesnt tend to hurt as much.

El wrongo
Cigs are, for me, the most affordable and effective way of deadening the sense of smell. Decades ago, way back in the early days of my journey into the ozone I found that odors could trigger me into sudden unexpected states of reverie. During the first 2 year period in which I stopped smoking, I found this out the hard way... after coming *this close to wiping myself out on a motorcycle thanks to one off those episodes, I went back to using coffin nails. They may croak me in the end, but I'd have been in a pine box long ago without them.
As with everything else, there is no "one size fits all"... which is the fatal flaw in the busybody creed of making choices for others.

W.T. my Dad uses cigarettes medicinally too. When he gets the migraines that cause him to go blind (for up to 3 days) he'll have a cig. or 2 as soon as the eye symptoms start, it regulates the blood-flow behind his eyes and voila! vision.
My huge gripe is when people use drugs WHILE PREGNANT or in a non-ventillated area with children around....gggrrrr....(btw I'm not beating up on those who might have done that many years ago before we all knew better).
Pot stunts kids growth? Someone shoulda told my ex-boyfriend, he grew to be almost 7 foot!!

Cigarettes for medicinal purposes? There's gotta be a little pill that does the job w/less risk to the ol' bod.
So is your boyfriend a 'healthy' 7 footer? I don't claim it's a fact, it's just something I heard.
My daughter was on her way to South America....... she called to say a guy lit up on the plane and they took him to the back until they landed. Said it was a Federal offense so I guess he's in trouble. I'm thinking he has bad nerves and cigs are his relief to whatever was going on, seemed to be giving trouble beforehand.

Ive seen this thread pop up occasionally and guess I'll through my thought on the subject in. I like the stuff, been alot of years since I've done any but alot of people I know do..doesn't bother me a bit........unless it is destructive. Should be de-crimanalized....because, under current law it makes a criminal out of decent people and their not criminals....only crime, Smoked some weed.

Quote: Marijuana 101: School teaches ins, outs of pot Justin Berton, S.F. Chronicle Staff Writer Monday, April 21, 2008
Ryan and Matthew Epperley awoke at 4 a.m. in Redding, loaded their Dodge Durango with clothes for the weekend and arrived in Oakland on a Saturday morning just in time to attend their first class at Oaksterdam University.
The brothers were among 20 people enrolled in the two-day course that, by Sunday evening, would teach them how to own and operate a pot club in California. They'd learn how to grow their product indoors, harvest it and cook with it, and hear from several lecturers on the legality of such a practice.

Thanks for the article Nebula.
The quote below (from the article) is a typical statement from a medical marijuana user.
Quote: "Being able to sleep has been the biggest enhancement in my life," she said. "You might think it's a small thing, but being able to take my dogs out for a walk - that's a great joy to me."
It's not unusual for folks to be pleasantly surprised that the *demon* that gave us "refer madness" actually can do something besides turn us into raving lunatics.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm really living in the 21st century.
How is it okay to make and distribute alcohol but it's not okay to grow a plant. It gets my gander up.... the inconsistencies that we live with and tolerate amazes me at times.
I believe there is an amazing amount of data out there ....*IF* anyone (government researchers, doctors - whomever) was really interested in the long term effects of pot use. Instead of regulating and taxing (get over the fact that there might be an old grandmum growing it and not paying taxes on it - yup - just get over it) to generate revenue ... they spend tax dollars on fighting this insidious menace. And let's not forget about the MANY MANY benefits of the hemp... clothing, paper, and food.

we need to add: "growing hemp will decrease the amount of co2 in the atmosphere and therefore be excellent for preventing global warming, in addition to other uses that will reduce our dependence on big oil"
that will draw in the global warming crowd .even though my belief is that global warming is a non issue designed to take attn away from real pollution issues and possibly aid the one world govt crowd.
one note:
possession/growing or smoking marijuana with out a permit from the feds is a federal offense.it is illegal in all 50 states and territories of the us.some states have passed resolutions to not enforce federal law in this matter, but the feds can still do it.
