The Book Of THoTH

I am but a dark knight,
you are my fair maiden,
in jewels of your desires,
I'll try to keep you laden
to show you that you're priceless,
in your own precious way,
The Sun, she is arisin,
out on a new horizon
She brings with her the promise
of another bright blue day.
I hold you in my thoughts,
I keep you in my heart,
always thinking of you,
so you won't slip away.
& if you still await me,
I'll be back to find you,
won't rest until it's over,
and our love's here to stay!

Let me guide you through your darkness,
I'll gladly light the path
And shield your eyes from dreadful things,
left in the aftermath
Protect you from what's still to come,
while darkness lingers on,
And hold you close, unto my side,
until the black is gone...

I'm gliding through the ethers ,
Upon the Dragon's wing's
Well upon my way to a distant call
Since Morpheus invited me,
I feel like a celebrity,
as I grow ever closer
to the Crimson King's hall
When I arrive, she's waiting there
as promised long before
Her beauty is astounding!
It lights up every door
Shining bright as starlight,
That gleams, forevermore
Living in this dream
Was worth a thousand prayers
And I go now to greet her,
up so many stairs
Yes, Morpheus was kind to us,
He brought us back to be
The greatest lovers time has known,
Indeed, were you & me...

When you walk down by the river, & past the willow tree,
Please think about me, thoughts so lovingly
Those memories, always seem to please
Ancient times, when love came with the greatest ease
But the ways of the world & such harsh realities,
Shattered dreams for the futures of you & of me
Now I'm left with the thoughts of what could've been
If only I'd have spoken, magic words I held within...

As the candle flickers in your eyes,
I see you are my soul's demise
reflections of things you despise,
you know the what's, I cry the why's...

& not neccesarily on my guitar...
I like little blue things, like little blue oval things,
That help me see nearly, from afar
I like little blue things, like little blue scored things
that put my pain into a jar...

Kaleidoscopes of color, rays of gold, so warm
creatures coming out of hiding places
I remembered you today, as I watched the squirrels at play
& the looks of happiness upon their faces
Spring is getting close, & life's now coming back
The rainbow paints in all the darkened spaces
Every day brings in new hope & comforting ways to cope
Flowers soon will fill up all the empty vases
Today was really bright, with glorious sunlight
Yesterday's darkness replaced- with shiny, warm embraces...

I am pleased with the influx of talent that comes on BoT, it is always a pleasure to read others poems and yours is no different. I take delight in reading your submission, and more often than not I leave thinking about what you created.

Your world- filled with smoke & mirrors, is so untrue
Your world- looks to see the terror on their face
Your world- ugly as the day that it was brewed
Your world- surely it will vanish, without a trace

My world- is not so incomplete without you
My world- is 180 degrees out nowadays
My world- needs you not, with all the things you do
My world- speeds right on forward, into the haze

Our world- was once an Aladdin's dream-come-true
Our world- got separated, lost within the maze
Our world- just fell off of its axis, came unglued
Our world- tragically, was numbered, in its days

This world- finds me fallen down, out in the dew
This world- helps me up again, in magic ways
This world- says I should go on to something new
This world- promises to help me find my place
