My lady love is often away on business and then I am sometimes a bit bereft
A while ago she went away for several days. Phone calls, cell-to-cell internationally, are quite costly and with bad lines and time lag and cr@p like that you don't feel like you are making an emotional connection. It's hard to express what you are feeling. And sms's are HORRIBLE becasue you only have a few lines. So, on the first day, I had a light-bulb moment. I'd make the best of a bad situation. I'd use the fact that I only have a few words to express myself and I'd write her a short-form poem each day. A Haiku per day! And I did. I sort of like the way they came out. I got BIG kudos from her when she got back! Yay! :-)
For the incurable romantics amongst you (like me) I share them here...
And THEN, if anyone would like to add THEIR Haiku of Love, of course you are welcome!
Bereft
Adrift in a sea
of the lack of you
The clouds pull in for the night
Not Alone
Like a lotus floats
On the lakes gentle ripples
I find peace in thoughts of you
Your Eyes
When I see sadness in your eyes
I want to hold that sadness
Like a sleeping child
In My Heart
If life should pull and tear us apart
Still wed be together
You live in my heart
Tides
When you are far
the tide rises and easily brims
Surely you are my sun and moon
Perfect
A hole in my heart
A hole in my soul
Filled perfectly by you
I know you
With closed eyes I would know you still
The touch of your soul
Is home to my heart
Exultation
Clouds clearing and sunlight streaming
Birds flocking, singing and calling
You're coming home, You're coming home
