A Dream In Blue
The corner casts a shadow
and I let my heavy lids fall
In the middle of a work-day
I have no right at all
to sleep
So I stay awake
just resing the eye
and I drift to another place
as far and blue as the sky
Blue is cool
Blue is deep
Friendly
and
Playfull
So, I will just play a while
Be in a cool blue place a while
Be friendly until I hear the footsteps
The Red menace of my superviser
She's hot,
And not in the good way
She should cool down
Like me
Be more blue
But that might make her purple
Howdy Y'all.

Fantastic theme, I'm famous for it!! LOL
Buses brings me out in a daydream
A journey long to and from my home
In a small village outside a town
Sometimes I catch people looking me with a frown
Turns out a small smile escaped me
As I think of something funny
Sometimes I wish I didn't do it often enough
As I tend to miss where I should be getting off!
*************
He comes alive and ever so real
I can almost smell let alone feel
The presence of his all being
In my minds eye I am all seeing
We make love once more
Just before he went through the door
To another world after he died
Memories fade despite how I tried
Fought, battled, talked and scream
Too keep him alive albeit in a daydream

Darn, responded the other day to you Momma but my 'puter went loopy & it didn't post. No point now as would be so out of context in the new thread. Oh well. Have fun!!
----------------------------------------
DREAMY FOOD
Body in need of sustenance
thoughtless snack embraced
but truely the effect is reversed
Feels like squiggly lines and balloons
these colours that fall on a
moon turning inside out
Forgotten rhymes, remembered
as allegories...shaddows
on invisible faces
Transfixed the cockerel climb
into a basket marked "limbo"
while their whistles turn to stone
These induced daydreams
so innocently taken on, shocked me,
that mushroom must've been MAGIC!!
----------------------------------------
We're a posse of poets who meet online
and ecourage eachother to daydream, sometimes putting these to rhyme.
Though that wasn't very good it's creativity that matters
in our world of expression, make believe and mindless chatter.
(edit to move smiley)

Legos of daydream
Imagination running free
In their eyes they see
One on top of another
A house, car, bus or whatever
Stacked high
Reaching for the sky
Visions promote creativity
Legos of daydream becoming reality
I sit and watch with a smile
It's going to be a long while
Before they get bored with it
The legos that can get daydream built

Excellent poem, Batty! Nothing compares to the creativity of young children & you captured that so well in your poem - Blessings, NL

In the garden, in sunshine with kitty by my side
I listen to wind chimes and while away my time
Colours swirling around in my head,
become a butterfly and I it's passenger
We swoop down to kitty, dodging her paw,
then higher we fly to dance around the jasmine
Here we land on a branch overhead
to find hidden creatures in the boughs
Just when I'm feeling how nice playtime is
THE TELEPHONE RINGS and yanks me back to earth

What does your pet daydream about?
Does your kelpie chase cars when he looks at the stars
with twin satellites for the tail lights?
Does your burmese catch fish from the pond
and a-tickling her whiskers is a curly fern frond?
What do you daydream about?
Do you envision a romantic weekend...
there in your arms is your lover, your friend?
Do you tell the boss you quit...
or charm them with verve and wit?
If you're not one for pretend & keep imagination under lid,
I tell you now & true, you're really missing something kid!!

I could never understand why
the teachers would tell you
to stop daydreaming , and then ask you to use your imagination?
I could never understand too
why it was frowned upon at work to daydream and ponder ,
yet new ideas and initiative were the required products
I now think that given time
through meditation and calm thought
We come up with our own little light bulbs ideas , to find our own path , and call it enlightenment
For it could be that the powers
that control and try to drive our car of life
Need us to think in only their straight line and not map out our own.. how wrong !
Book of Thoth gives everyone the chance
To spend time in study and contemplation
And in developing their points of concern by being open minded and aware
Some of the blank face robots
That follow like sheep to the slaughter truck
Would call it Daydreaming , I call it gathering information for personal discovery.

Daydreaming
On the empty beach , her footsteps grace
leaving slight and tiny footstep marks
before the tide removes each trace
She sings of love, of men sailing free
Lilting melody and soulful tunes
of the spoils of fights held out at sea
She walks right by, her gown deep blue
Stepping carefully in shoeless feet
She has no sight of me , she looks straight through
Is she a dream ? a flicker of a time ?
As I sit and watch her walk into the sea
I hope that the girl is just a dream of mine
For I cannot save, I'm too far away
She will sink beneath , will be lost in the foam
Her body will be gone , though she will live on for another day
For the sea can soothe , can cleanse and heal
The pain of love , of chances lost in the flow of life
And I will daydream , and see the sights and feel the feel.
For I am her , and she now is me
Our thoughts , and lives , and memories entwine
So she now sits and watches me walk , slowly , into the sea

The wind is cool..fresh..and strong..
As it gathers me up..
And sweeps me along..
I know not where to..only it can decide
Content in its power..
My time can bide..

NEWBS...I 2nd NL's thoughts in that...well done but do come back down to earth
Juno...like your garden daydream very calming and visually charming...like watching a kleenex advt...nice
NomadofLuna...the escape at the moment gives character...rythm is swaying and fall...cool
Batty...the bus trip was good short but relative (very charming and innocent)
...the 2nd (too much day soap opera)...gets a bit hot under the collar...but how descriptive in small words impressive
Momma...very short but has depth...very nice to read in few seconds
cheers

Well.as usual it has been tough to choose here..so many great..different themes..but the one that made me smile the most..was that of the children..and their imaginative..wonderful dreams..so this weeks winner is....
..Batty !....with her evocative poem of...
Legos of daydream
Imagination running free
In their eyes they see
One on top of another
A house, car, bus or whatever
Stacked high
Reaching for the sky
Visions promote creativity
Legos of daydream becoming reality
I sit and watch with a smile
It's going to be a long while
Before they get bored with it
The legos that can get daydream built
Well Done....
