I am right here Momma. Thank you so very much. I owe you big time. Anything I can do you just give me a holler. Any of you neighbors bothering you, need your yard mowed, or anything.
Ok Cruiser, very close but not quite specific enough. I knew the first answer would be the Alamo. Please keep at it. You are on the right track.

Yep Mammy, I am so old I sometimes get names mixed up. By the way who was that masked man. And what was the name of that Indian that followed him around.
Uhh....I think I am off topic.

No, not the outside seen from inside the Alamo. But you are definitely getting warm. I need to know the name of the two towns. And since you seem so dedicated to this I am going to give you an enigmatic clue.
It is not real, that which you see I confess
But it was 172 years ago, more or less
The place where it is, is an actual place
Existing in time and space
The place you see Springs to life
To tell a tale of woe and strife
I need to Set all straight
Stop and see the guard at the gate.

Cruiser, you got the state right. Now for another few clues. Not only for Cruiser, but for any and every body.
What you see is only half the story
The other half was bloody and gory
But nary a life was lost
But was the effort worth the cost
The make believe men in their make believe town
Plied their trade on dripping ground
Gang, I am trying my best to help y'all out here. Hell's bells, even Karl Childers would get it. Right Nomad???

Ok my guess is somewhere near Austin Texas. There was a conflict when Sam Houston tried to move the Republic of Texas documents to Houston because he feard Austin would fall to the mexicans. It was called the Archives War. Austin citizens stoped him on the way to Houston and the documents were returned to Austin.

It is near Austin, but has nothing to do with the Archives War.
I am enjoying this. I surely hope someone gets it. We're gonna need more answers.

Momma, Momma, Momma, you are getting there, but as the question asks. "Where am I?'
Re read all my clues. The answer is in there. Now for another clue:
The stars were on the ground.
At dawn, running around
Mr. Reimer looked upon the scene
Thinking to himself, It was really keen
And then it was all over and later they all went to San Antone
To celebrate a job well done

To all the above, I regret I have to say, "Naw." But keep on keeping on. Someone is gonna get it, 'cause y'all are smart.
There is a place on a place near a place
The first place is not the real thing. Like makeup on your face
The second place is real. Big and scattered. I know!
The place they are near is small as such places go
All three places are near a capital spot
Washington DC it is not

OK Bubs., I've just spent about 4 hours solid trying to decypher your clues. I've travelled from Austin to San Antone and all points NWSE. I've been to Far Oaks Ranch, Dripping Springs, Uhland, Hollywood Park etc..etc.. I dropped into Alamo Heights, spent twenty minutes in Nixon ( He was none to pleased ). I've recited the Route 66 song backwards, forwards, and bloody sideways.
WERE THE HELL ARE YOU !

Special clue for Cats (but anyone can use it)
In his travels Cat came close to the very spot.
But observant he is not
Mr Thorton could have helped him a lot.
As a fiddle player he was hot.
Again if Mr Reimer is reading these lines of prose
He is thinking "Damn, I thought everyone knows
Bubba knows and is on his toes
Too bad all is over here and the gate must close
But to see another sort of like it I feel
Take a little trip to Bracketville

Cruiser, that is correct as to where, but the picture is of what located on Reimer's Ranch.
Now, don't everyone make a mad dash to google that Ranch.
But if you do, you stand a pretty good chance.
Another little hint for all you google friends.
To enjoy the fruits of Mr. Hacocks labor and to win,
A bag of popcorn, coke, and a candy bar and such
Is a must, even though the cost is way too much.
PS: Momma, any news regarding Daniel (another enigmatic hint, but to get it you will need to read all of Momma's posts... I think...But I could be wrong)

Hells Bells Cruiser, you win. That was plenty close enough. You deserve it. You must've googled 'tll you were blue in the face.
The location is the movie set of the last Alamo Movie, starring Billy Bob Thonton as Davy Crockett. Directed by John Hancock. The Movie set is located on the Reimer Ranch near Dripping Springs, Texas. Dripping Springs is near Austin. My wife and I were there while they were making the movie.
Now do all the clues make sense????
Congratulations Cruiser. Now grace us with another "Where Am I?"

Now that was weird!
"What was weird?", you ask. I did not enter that questioning smiley into my last post. I swear I didn't. But when I submitted, there he was. Oooohhhhh.... I am scared. Naw not really.
