Here is a video starring Carl Sagen trying to determine how many viable civilizations might exist in our galaxy. Funny thing is: He mentions we have 10 planets in our solar system. Now I doubt he is including the Sun....Another thing is: I believe he died long before this "10th" planet was discovered as he would have been adding Pluto into the equation. Is this proof that much is being held back from the public? Was that a slip? What more did Sagan know? Or....Is my imagination overworked so to speak? Here is the link to the video:

Hey Mensa517, I forgot to mention in my P.M. to you that I think that maybe Mr. Sagan was thinking in terms of averages, in this case the decimal system, for the purposes of making rough estimates. He would not have thought of supposing other planetary system to have an average of eight, nine or twelve but Ten, yes and I suppose he was thinking that "our" Solar System falls within that average estimate. I would not venture to suspect anything along "conspiracy" lines. :)
