Falling pearldrops , crystals sparkling.....plop
On the garden , snow is laying, crunch ....crackle
Muffles sounds , and ices the footways ....slip
Windscreen wipers push , ice shines the motorways....whoosh
Mother Earth's very own play dust children laughing .... HaHaHa!
Everfalling snowflakes , dont stop , ...I yearn to wear your silver gown!

Namana, you write beautifully! Great stuff, keep it up!
I grew up spending Christmas snorkeling on the reef off of the Florida Keys. I think that's a wonderful Winter Scene you've painted in my mind. Thanks for bringing the ocean all the way up here to Cheyenne, Wyoming for me!
Ps... and you too, Newbs. Delightful, showing off mom's Winter nature very well. Always enjoy these poems, thanks!

Thankyou Momma,
I woke early one morning from a dream wherein I was standing on the ocean shore waching a beautiful sunset with the warm waves gently washing up over my feet. I was standing with my arms held wide and my face upturned to the heavens reciting that poem. There was a great deal more to the poem, but that was all I could remember.

The most mystical lights, within the night, Only brought forth in Winter's reign All the beauty of rainbows in motion, On a darkened sky, & without rain 'Tis all one needs to witness bliss, A vision you're certain to retain Indeed, it's Aurora Borealis Beyond wonders, without refrain...
Welcome, Namana

How about end of the season as in what is changing or ending in ones life?
Again thank you, no I dont feel lonely now. I was being a bit moody, it is the first time that hubby and I had thanksgiving alone, without the kids.

At the end of the season
when the solstice has passed
and the dark will get let lighter
and the bare will get dressed
Shall will see that the sunlight
once more sparkles through frost
Morning comes a touch earlier
where we once thought e'er lost
At the end of the season
when life starts up anew
we will see what this New Year
has up it's greensleeves for You!

The end of the season..
Christmas is finished..
The cards taken down..
Twelfth Night approaches..
Soon..come the morn..
''It's all over now''
You hear people say..
''And what we have left..
Are the bills to pay ! ''

The old man had just passed his 81st birthday
Thinking back of all he had seen along the way
Best of all were the holiday seasons
And he had very good reasons
The kids and grandkids were there for them all
Winter, spring, summer and fall
Thanksgiving, Christmas, The fourth of July
Special seasons that just flew by.
His was a life of seasons of which he was part
He would miss them, they filled a void in his heart.
He leaned back taking a deep, long sigh.
He knew his season was growing nigh.

It's been awhile, so good to see everyone coming back around
Upon looking back, when there was much time, The clock on the mantlepiece, set with springs tightly wound dependable was she, for all to see, her chimes, such a heavenly sound
But gradually so, the days went by, the springs, slowly loosened, her hands, no longer did fly Dust now, it clothed her & rust had bethrothed her The poor clock began wondering- why?
A kind soul walked past her & noticed her plight They cleaned her & wound her, set her hands to fly right
The cycle of that treasured time-piece might not be so different, from one of our own life's story, as when we wind down, our face with a frown Someone might just bring us back our glory...

Spring sort of sneaks in as our backs are turned
Then eases out, replaced by Summer's burn
Summer cools a bit with the arrival of the first north wind
Seeing an opening Autumn slyly slips in
And then the big one charges across the land
With freezes, snow and ice in hand
Winter has arrived like a bull in a china shop
But even winter soon will stop
Year after year, again and again
All seasons eventually end

WOW!!!!!
Some really cool peotry!! I like it!
I feel a bit intimidated
With the shortest of days,
like a life thats past,
I move on to a new morn,
Knowing I am on hte right track at last.
Looking back I wonder at the lessons learned,
knowing full well there is much more to come in turn.
As the seasons move on, within my life and without,
I gain the knowledge to change my path about.
Three lives I have lived within just this one,
And now a forth is about to be begun.

The Wolf At The Door
He scratches, he paws, he asks to be in,
He smiles his big toothy grin.
No barks, no whines, in silance he stares with
Eyes of the goldenest brown.
Lolling tongue with head aside
His love without one cannot abide.
Devoted he is, his family we are
He protects us and loves us and entertains us from near and far.
He takes us by the hand and walks us along.
We in turn love, feed, walk, talk, pet, wrestle with and OH YES! bathe
the "poor" boy as a family should.
Although for the last I bet he wishes we would not.
Company he is on this quiet mountain,
alone we are for long hours of the day and oh he does constantly want to play.
The elk he does chase, the bear he does scare, the cougar up a tree runs when he is near.
Ferocious he does look to some, but cuddly and sweet he is, those who fear do not come to near and for that we do appriciate, for a Wolf he is and most misunderstood, for the myth and stories told form far past have tarnished his good name, and long does it last.
In truth he is most intelligent,
expression and thought he does read with ease,
to lie is impossible,
when ones thoughts are open for all,
A Wolf in sheeps clothing??
I think not, for he would be far to ashamed to admit such a lie,
his pack mates would chase him away and leave him to die.
Love us he does, and we in turn.
He protects us at all times,
in fact and in dream,
So safe we feel, for we are, when in the presence of the Wolf At The Door.
Oh......Oh..........its time for a walk once more!!

To these, I write my words today- To all the pets in this world
Where would we be without them - for each one is a pearl
All these lovely entities, each has so much to give
They know how to love, know how to live,
How to unconditionally forgive
To those who think they know not of emotions-
You're living in a vacuum
They feel our thoughts & all of our notions,
there's no need to assume
So here's to all the pets today
That put the smiles upon our faces,
warmed our hearts, & licked our wounds
& gave us kind, loving embraces

(I have done this previously so no need to get included, just wanting to add more to the subject)
My Dog
The clicking of four paws
Surely knows...we’re about to play
Grabbing toys, by the jaws
Highlights of his day
I’ll always see, you close...to me
The running down the stairs
Securely...thinking of us here
Shows, how much he cares
As he hide his own fear
I’ll always keep, you close...to me
The sniffing under doors
Saying...I’m all glad you’re near
Like holding his tears, from pours
So much for me to endear
I’ll always hug, you close...to me
The echoes of his barks
Calling...out for us to see
Sounding like his lark
Or just saying where he’ll be
I’ll always hear, you close...to me
Now that you have gone
And my life and heart has partly left
Forever my puppy to me on
I feel you sleeping next to me
And I’ll always, dearly love you so close...to me
this is the ode to my dog ...he was 91 cm or 3 feet from paw to shoulder and was 140 kg or 309lbs and looked like a giant puppy (rottweiller/doberman)
cheers
(inserted pics after posting; and thank you Cruiser for helping me with this bit of sadness in me)

Uh...Um......
Kato now hides with head under paws,
so mistaken he is,
oh no one really knows.
A Timber WOLF I am, 3/4 I be,
not a drop of malmute blood you see.
1/4 Husky and thats all.
A big fella I am and quite tall.
125 lbs I weigh, and all LOVE, every inch of it, well except for the protection of all.
Kato
