Hey guys,
Just wondering i like to write down my dreams . Like at night I'll have dreams and in the morning i will hava a writing book on my night table, and so when i wake up i start writing what i remember.
Does anyone else do this for fun or for any other reason. I just do it ... I dont know why.

Yes, I write down my significant dreams. For me, it's just part of the overall process of moving forward spiritually. I document the significant events in my life; periodically going back over what I've written has been rewarding in quite a few ways.
When something puzzles me, I write it down and leave a space in my journal where I can add the solutions as they come. Sometimes I don't leave enough space, though....
My journals are messy. hee

Newbs, that was seven months ago! "Recent" is relative. hee... Good post, true, and I can't speak for anyone other than myself here but I've been gone a while and couldn't possibly dig that far back to catch up on my reading here.
Not yet, anyway. hee
Back to keeping a dream journal: I rarely recall my dreams. Several years ago I 'contracted' with my high self (and anyone in my spirit community who might influence my dreams) that I would only recall those dreams that contain information, feelings, processes and whatnot that are significant to my waking life and/or spiritual path. Went a long, long time without any dream recall at all, and I was glad of it. Before I put on the stops I was waking up several times a night, writing brief summaries of my dreams, and not sleeping very well... which was really hard on my health. Hence the 'contract'.
But then I completely fell out of the habit of writing down my dreams, of course, and when I started having significant dreams again - and recalling them - I lost a few because I didn't document them right away and they faded before I got to it. Ok, lesson learned. *sigh* I can never do anything the easy way.
Fast forward (just a few months) to the present: I believe I've found the balance again. I still don't have many significant dreams but I am prepared for when I do.
Newbs, your chart suggestion is amazing. Although I just don't function that way (the organized approach), it did give me some good insights regarding what I might look for when recalling significant dreams. It hadn't occurred to me to search my dreams, just to recount them and go from there. But I think I might have missed some clues along the way that I may have seen if I had less passively documented them. Does that make sense? I know colors and textures have been parts of the focus of my dreams at times, but it never occurred to me to analyze more deeply and look for those things. I really don't know if that will turn out to be useful for me but I am definitely going to give it a shot.
Thanks for the discussion!
