On the intellectual level, I see merit in the proposal of reduction of Global population, on several levels, here though I’ll just address the human aspect.

On the human level, having seen all the stages of people starving to death, consequently I concur with the proposition.

An adult may survive for about 10-12 days without food and water.

If only water is supplied this period may extend to 50-60 days.

Various sources on the internet quote figures of deaths from starvation, anywhere from 4 million, to 16 million people per year.

There are also claims that 35,000 children die daily of starvation; fortunately they don’t last as long as adults do.

The very young and aged suffer most from starvation.

Starvation would be one of the worst possible deaths for anything to suffer.

It’s hard enough when we have to put down stock (and any other animals) during droughts, because they don’t have the energy to stand any more due to lack of food, and water; of those that are still in a state where rescue is possible, only a few survive due to the massive internal damage caused by starvation, and even those are never the same after a severe episode of starvation.

We at least can put these animals down, and give them a quick, and reasonably painless death, even though it is by a bullet.

Now transfer that scene to people, where you have to walk past them and are unable to do anything for them, in severe cases, the simple act of giving them even a small amount of food, will kill them, unpleasantly I might add, and giving them water, is only going to prolong their misery.

Some will automatically say “but there is plenty of food, it’s just not being distributedâ€
