Klerksdorp Spheres
From The Book of THoTH (Leaves of Wisdom)
The Klerksdorp Spheres are small spheres found by miners near Ottosdal, South Africa lying in Precambrian strata, about 2.8 billion years old. The spheres are exposed at Klerkdorp museum.
Hundreds of metallic spheres were found by miners in Precambrian strata said to be a fantastic 2.8 billion years old. The controversy centers around fine grooves encircling some of the spheres. Lab technicians were at a loss to explain how they could have been formed by any known, natural process.
The spheres are of two types--"one of solid bluish metal with white flecks, and another which is a hollow ball filled with a white spongy center" (Jimison 1982).
Some have claimed their spherical shape and fine grooves could only have been created by intelligent beings - making them a classic "out-of-place artifact". This view is expressed in Michael Cremo's Forbidden Archaeology. Others say they are pyrite nodules of metamorphic origin and goethite nodules formed by the weathering of the pyrite.
Richard Hoagland has made a thought provoking connection between the spheres and Saturn's moon Iapetus, which is discussed by Mac Tonnies.
