Introduction

The Book of THoTH with the help of best selling author Philip Gardiner has struck a deal with one of the world’s leading Music and DVD companies - Reality Entertainment - to provide thousands of dollars worth of prizes for submitted articles. In addition after 6 months the very best articles will be chosen to appear in a new Book to be launched world-wide by Reality Press entitled The Book of THoTH : Wisdom of the Ages. Although there will be no royalty payments on the book, presently unpublished authors will have the chance to see their name in print in a major new book and will then be able to use this as a catalyst to further their publishing career.

"This is a major step forward in helping people get their voice heard, and getting previously unpublished ideas out there in the greater world. I know for a fact that there are thousands of prospective authors out there desperate to be heard and I was wondering how I could help them. I spoke to THoTH and to Reality and brought the two together and so with this united and powerful front we can really make a statement and help people. Articles should be no less than 500 words and no more than 2000. One image per article only please. Give full name and a brief 2 line bio with each submission.

Competition Rules

• Articles should have no less than 500 words and no more than 2000.
• Articles must be based on one of the paranormal or other categories at The Book Of THoTH (see below)
• The articles must be non-fiction
• Personal experience can be mentioned in the article, but the article must not centre on that.
• All articles must be original.
• Only 1 picture per article is allowed.
• Please mark all entries for the competition with the words "competition entry" at the bottom of articles.

Renderosity Book Cover Design Competition

The Book of THoTH, in cooperation with best selling author Philip Gardiner, has struck a deal with one of the world’s leading publishing companies - Reality Entertainment - to create a new book entitled The Book of THoTH : Wisdom of the Ages. The idea behind the book is to give unpublished authors a chance to have their voices heard and to share their articles on the following subjects:

Prize List

Agreement

The Prize Winners must supply Renderosity and sponsoring vendors, with their name and email address for prize distribution.

All artists agree, by entering this contest, to allow Renderosity to use their entries for promotional purposes: online, digital, in print, on CD, or in any other medium. By submitting your entry into this contest you are granting Renderosity the right to retain your entry in it's archive and to display the entry within this community to promote Renderosity or future contests held as a part, or extension of this community. By submitting this form, you agree that you are authorized to grant permission to Renderosity to display your creative work for external demonstrations of community art. Renderosity does not seek ownership of any of the entries. The Artist will remain the intellectual property holder of their entry images, with the exception of the winning entry, which will become the property of Reality Entertainment. The Winner will be provided "professional credits" but no additional payment besides the prizes won in this contest will be paid.

• Contest Closes: Monday, November 13th, 2006, 12:00pm [noon] Central Standard Time (CST/Renderosity Server Time)
• Entries MUST be time stamped by November 13th, 2006, 12:00pm CST (Renderosity Server Time)
• Judging will take place: November 14th - 20th
• Winners to be Announced: Tuesday, November 21st

Winner's Announcement will be posted on the Renderosity FrontPage, in the Community Center Forum, the Contest Forum, the weekly newsletter and on this official contest page.

General Contest Rules:

Ancient wisdom, knowledge brought into the modern age..In this contest we are looking for an image that would be appropriate for the cover of The Book of THoTH : Wisdom of the Ages. Please visit The Book of THoTH web site to view the stories and topics. The image may depict any of the stories or concepts or combinations there of, which can be found on that web site.

To submit a contest entry you will need:

Full Image: No larger than 768 Width x 1024 Height pixels [portrait only format; 72 dpi in jpg or gif format] to upload on the website.

Thumbnail Image: Thumbnail image MUST be included. (may be up to 100 x 100 pixels in jpg or gif format.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Grand Prize Winner is required to provide a print ready copy of the winning submission. The printed image size must be: 9 inches vertical by 6 inches horizontal. For the printing format must be: a hi def pdf, .eps, or .jpg at 300 dpi. We recommend that you create the 300 dpi, print ready image, first. Save it. Then resize to 72 dpi and save to use as the Full Image for the web site submission.

Contest Rules:

• Entries must follow these contest guidelines:
• Art will be submitted should be suitable as a book cover.
• Multiple entries per artist are permitted.
• Entries may not be previously published works.
• All entries must by made by the artist that created it and must be the property of the artist.
• One (1) prize maximum per winner will be awarded.
• The image must comply with Renderosity's Terms of Service.
• The winner of this contest will appear on the cover of The Book of THoTH. This will provide "professional credits" but no additional payment besides any prizes won in the contest that will be paid.
• The print version may NOT contain any text, or signatures. The final layout of the book cover will be completed by the publisher/printer and they will take care of adding the text and credits.
• Mild nudity is allowed if it fits the story. (NO frontal nudity, or bare buttocks.)
• No violence allowed.
• All entries will be reviewed before being posted.
• We reserve the right to reject entries that may not be suitable for this contest.
• Open to all Renderosity members except Sponsors, Judges, Admins and Bondware employees.

Judging:

• How well does the art "fit" the book?
• How well does the art communicate the contents of the book?
• How creative is the image?

The winner will be selected by a judging panel from among the images with the overall highest scores.

The judging panel's decision is final.
