reganlee Submits- "I came across the comment recently in an article somewhere; the writer remarked that a reported UFO wasn’t really a “real” UFO. Whatever that means. Did it turn out to be an IFO? (Identified Flying Object.) If so, it was still a UFO; until such time it was correctly identified. Nothing real, or unreal, about it.
I don’t know why I persist in my lonely campaign of trying to get the parsing, semantics and gestalt of UFOs straight, but we’re all human, and we all have our little perversities. One of mine is complaining about the loose understanding and use of the term UFO. "

To many people involved with UFOs, the name Nick Pope will no doubt be familiar. For those who aren't, Nick used to run the UFO Desk for the British Ministry of Defence back in the early 1990's.
Although he took the role with no preconceptions about the nature of UFO sightings, it wasn't long before he realised that this wasn't a subject to be dismissed out of hand. There were several incidents which not only surprised Nick, but proved to him that there was a genuine phenomenon to be studied, and that it impacted on all levels of society.

On 30 and 31 March 1993 there was a series of UFO sightings in the UK involving over a hundred witnesses. Many of these were police officers and military personnel. The UFO also flew directly over two RAF bases. What follows is the extraordinary story of what has been dubbed The British UFO Mystery.
Overview
The first sighting took place on 30 March at around 8.30pm in Somerset. This was followed by a sighting at 9pm in the Quantock Hills. The witness was a police officer who, together with a group of scouts, had seen a craft that he described as looking "like two Concordes flying side by side and joined together". The reports came in thick and fast and when I arrived at work the following morning I received a steady stream of reports ........

I'll preface this article by stating that the events of January 16th were highly unusual in themselves, but upon examining photographs that were taken at the time, there appears to be pictures of anomalous objects, which may be UFOs. They may not be UFOs, but it would certainly explain the curious events of that day.
My fiancee and I were walking to our car, to begin a journey to a town nearby. I'm forever looking skyward, and I noticed at first a very fast jet aircraft at an altitude like that of a commercial airliner (about 30,000ft). What struck me about this aircraft was that it's profile as it turned, showed that it had delta wings. Very much like the Eurofighter we'd both seen at an air show the previous year. Despite it's height, the aircraft still was producing a loud roar as it did when we'd seen the Eurofighter.
