UFOs, Ouija Boards, and Imaginative Children |
I have to say that growing up in a small, out of the mainstream, religious community makes for some interesting tales. Now we did have black and white television when I was a child. Our reception was based on an outdoor antennae. We got 3 channels when the wind and sand was not blowing too bad. Otherwise, we turned down the sound, sat in front of the tv, and watched "snow", and thought how marvelous that was.
I remember shows like "Roy Rogers" and "Have Gun Will Travel" as being perfectly acceptable since I was riding horses and doing target shooting with a 22 calibre rifle by the time I was 5 years old.
During that time, the original "Superman" was broadcast. That was one of those shows that we had to watch on the sly, because a flying alien living on earth bordered on sacreligious. Remember, this is the Bible belt.
I was pretty much a loner as a child, because I was psychic from day one on this rock. Since I was "different", my parents tried desperately to make me what their other adopted child was like.... a normal little human offspring. I don't think it worked though.

When I was about 12, we got a new preacher at our church. He had a big family which was great for the little population in that town. There was a daughter in that family who was about 11. Come to find out, our first names were the same. Even more importantly, she had a lot of the same oddities as me. She was psychic and believed in aliens, too! When we finally discovered this, we were pretty much inseperable.
This friend and I spent a lot of time sitting outside looking at the sky. We would get on the roof or climb a tree to have a better vantage point when we could get away with it. Otherwise, we would just lay on the trampoline or car and watch the sky. We never really talked about what we were looking for that much. We just knew we had been left on this rock by mistake and that somewhere out there was a spaceship full of our alien family looking for us.
To you, this might seem to be just the musings of misfit children. But think of this! Where in the world did we come up with aliens and space craft? Neither of us had been exposed to either of those concepts. With the recent discussion in the forums about references to the space craft in the Bible, it is pretty reasonable to say that it was not talked about way back then. It is tiptoed around even now.
One day when we were laying on the trampoline watching for our "ride home", we saw something that made our musings more real. We weren't talking...just watching the sky. At the same time, both of us raised our right arms and pointed to a speck of shiny silver in the sky. I remember it because it was like it was choreographed or something. We looked at each other, and then quickly looked back at the sky, afraid we might lose sight of it.
We laid there for some time watching this little silver speck just sit there in one place. Then it seemed to grow larger. It was more like a silver basketball in the sky now. It seemed to just sit in that one place for a long time. Then it kinda zipped to one side and sat there for a bit. Then it zipped back the other way and sat there for a bit. Then it seemed to come closer, because it got larger. Then it did a little curve to the side and shot straight out away from Earth and was gone.
You are probably thinking to yourself that it must have been a weather balloon caught in some weird cross currents in the air. Well, maybe so....or maybe not. All I know is that we just KNEW it was a sign from our alien family that they were coming to get us. So off we went to pack our belongings and wait.
And we did wait, and wait, and wait. We waited to the point that those clothes we packed no longer fit.
During that time, my friend moved far away to Alamogordo, New Mexico, which is close to White Sands. We wrote to each other and talked on the phone, always asking the secret question as to whether the other one had seen the spaceship again. Neither of us ever did.
The next time we were together was many years later. I was 17 and she was 16. While I was there, her parents took us to White Sands to see the sand. It was indeed awesome, but not the high point of the trip. We were out walking and talking about how easy it would be to get lost there, never to be seen or heard from again.
We were doing our usual thing of looking skyward. All of a sudden, there it was. It was like an instant replay of the sighting we had all those years before in our little town. Also like before, it did not set down and let us board. It took off and was gone in a heartbeat. We were still left here on this rock wondering if we would ever get off.
Exit Spaceship....Enter Ouija Board!
We were sitting in her bedroom that night talking about all the weird things that happen in the minds of psychics and how our surroundings try to stifle it all. We discussed our two minor sightings and how we really believed in aliens and spaceships. Then she brought out a Ouija board. Now you have to know that her parents didn't have a clue what it was or what it was used for, or it would never have been allowed in that house. But she knew what it was for. She had used it before. Now she was going to introduce me to something I never imagined.
She set the board up and without any fooling around, we went straight to our questions about our life when "they" finally came to get us.
As well as I can remember, these are the questions we asked and the answers.
Did we see a spaceship? yes
Are they coming to get us? yes
What will our names be there? Narova (for both of us as our first names are the same)
When are they coming? soon
Well, let me tell you, we were very excited. To us, soon meant that night.
We hurriedly put everything away and got into bed. Now remember we are children who had grown up in a very sheltered environment. So it never crossed our minds to get dressed and wait outside. We figured we would just BE on the spaceship all of a sudden.
We laid there waiting in excited anticipation, afraid to talk, afraid to breath too loudly, for fear we might scare them off. I am sure it was only about 5 minutes that we waited even though it seemed like hours.
All of a sudden something hit the bedroom door. It scared both of us so badly that all we could do was sit up, grab each other's hands, and stare at the door. Now it is one thing to wish to be somewhere else. It is quite another to actually be faced with getting on a spaceship.
The bedroom door creaked open and we could see a humanoid shape seemingly glide through the doorway. It looked like it was floating in a white garment of some sort. Now as many years as we had waited for this event, we would have screamed for her parents to come save us except we were too scared to make a sound....not that we didn't try.
This white figure seemed to glide closer and closer to the bed. We had nowhere to go as the bed was tucked tightly into the corner of the room.
It got right by the end of the mattress where my feet were, turned around, and sat down! At that point, one of us did manage a little scream.
That little scream was enough to do the trick. The "thing" sitting on the end of the bed jumped and screamed. That's right! Screamed! Then all 3 of us screamed. My friend's parents came running and turned on the light.
It was not our long awaited family from the stars coming to take us home. It was her little sister sleepwalking!
The outcome. Neither of us have touched a Ouija board again, and I think we decided that perhaps the aliens coming to take us away might be a bit to scary for either of us.

Your so right, when you talk about just knowing, even though you've never even heard about it. What's really great, you had someone with you, seeing the same thing! So you could talk about it and compare, thoughts!
The Ouija, answered, but, it's answers can't be taken litteraly, as the way we think. A childs mind is so, innocent. Especially back then, when children, were sheltered. Unlike now.
Just because your answers didn't come true that night, doesn't mean they won't in the future! It just won't be answered, the way you would think it should be! One of the hardest things we have to learn, is patience!
Great account, Dolphin! The ending was the best! lol! Funny what shadows can turn out to be! And, YES, becareful what you wish for, it might come true! ;-) |

(User Info | Blog / Journal) http://www.book-of-thoth.com | Fascinating stuff, would it be fair to say, you 'attracted' this phenomena by your strong wish to see it? That's not meant to sound derogatory, I mean once it was there, did you feel like you'd brought it there?
It's just a feeling about these events that I have, I believe the phenomena is real, but I also believe sometimes it can manifest itself as a result of such thoughts.
